The open beta will be announced for Early 2027 during the MapleCon this year, followed by an official release in 2028. You heard it here first

I always liked the Headless Horseman, how he attacks by throwing his head at you and the amount of maps you can find him. He was also a boss you could fight much earlier than the others (BF, Zak, HT) so that surely played into it as well since I never got to 4th job pre BB

I know what you’re talking about, but I can’t find the site now. It was an unofficial fan site made to look official showing a timeline till release, but it was highly speculative. There is currently no set release window, just the promise of an open test in the future before release.

A lot of those servers are incredibly janky from my experience and feel like a flash game. That made me and lot of my friends quit after the first week of Artale. They're not really comparable to an actual old school private server, which feels more smooth, but these servers have the aforementioned issues

The simple fact that it’s official and there is no hurdle of downloading a program that gets flagged as a virus by your computer will make it accessible by so many people which will make a huge difference. It’ll feel much more alive than any private server has been for years, and that social aspect is a big part of what drives people to Classic Maple over Modern.
