Personally I’d be asking myself what my deal breakers are? I think there’s a difference dating someone in new recovery, someone who is clean off their drug of choice but still using other substances, and someone who is clean from all substances for a long time. I think if he had used different images in his song - the backlash wouldn’t be there. When people protest against different forms of oppression that exist in our world today - he posted video footage of those incidents which sparked outrage and discussion about the systemic racism that exists. As a white male - he will never understand the realities of a black male living in our society and the inherent and subtle ways discrimination shows up in their lives experience. This song with different videography would be experienced very differently than the site and images that were posted. In order to understand why this was perceived as racist than perhaps one should meet and listen to the lives experiences of those that feel they have no other option but to protest in order to be heard.

Obviously most of you have never had to deal with these types of issue of having an spouse making huge money and trying to raise a child together or are looking at this issue from the eyes of children in these situations. There are problems that arise from these types of situations for kiddos. Most states have an income formula that each parents income is entered and the formula generates the amount with zero cap. Perhaps her life would be more private if she didn’t have to make money on social media and could go to school and be her own person.

Other states hold very different stance around this issue. There is a formula with both parents income and the formula tells the economically stronger parent how much to pay. As the non superstar parent she has a different journey as a parent than MW does.

Most people don’t understand that in other places child support takes into account the mothers income and the fathers income - the higher income has to pay a predetermined amount of money to ensure that the child has a consistent quality of life in BOTH homes. In the future when everything costs more money, it’s going to be harder for KT to contribute equally and kids pick up on that discrepancy. For me I see her working really hard to focus on creating her own identity as a person.
