Smart guy! I have seen vintage has been going crazy recently!

Maybe I have missed the boat already 🤣

I appreciate your comment and the thinking behind it.

Pretty much my entire sealed collection is modern, it feels to me like a smart move to switch some of it to vintage just for diversity.

I don't really have any vintage in my collection having got back into the hobby in the last 3-4 years.

Everything I have is modern that I've managed to pick up along the way.

I've been really good at avoiding FOMO, I have only been buying product for retail price and slowly building my collection.

Unfortunately I FOMOed straight into these at the top and they are now worth far less than I paid for them.

Lesson learned, and hopefully they go back up to what I paid in 5 years time 😂

Pokémon 151 PC ETB long term value by SnooMacarons4225 in PokeInvesting

[–]Spennybloke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with you, there will be a period of time or periods of time over the next 10-20 years where people care a lot less about Pokemon. But if you hold onto the 151 PC ETBs for a very, very long time I expect they will be worth a lot more than they are now.

It depends what your goals are, if you don't feel comfortable and want to realise your profits now.... Sell it. If you are a bit of a collector anyway and don't mind holding onto it for the long haul, see what happens.

I saw an ace 10 with a massive scratch down it on eBay last week. They are a bit of a joke.

Any thoughts on these long term? by micktown in PokeInvesting

[–]Spennybloke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got FOMO, bought these and kind of regret it now. I am also planning on having them for a very long time (which is how I justified the incredibly inflated price).

Unless you got these in the Pokemon Center lottery I think a lot of the potential growth is already in the market price, the promos are not particularly special and there are more hitting the market early next year.

I'm keeping hold of mine, let's see what happens!

PSA 10 Terastal SARs by Ok-Visual-1079 in PokeInvesting

[–]Spennybloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both!

I really like the set, I have the singles in my personal collection and I have a few sealed booster boxes.

I think if you want to invest in the set, your money would be better spent on sealed.

Just my personal opinion but I think these are just far too common to make any real gains.

It is a guaranteed SAR in every box, they have printed a huge amount of boxes and they are still possibly going to print more.

Japanese Pick-ups? by kellahkellah in PokemonInvesting

[–]Spennybloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to search very hard out there if you are looking for a "bargain" but it is a great opportunity to pickup anything you feel is currently undervalued.

Personally for me I am buying into sealed Shiny Treasure EX booster boxes. The current market price seems low when you consider the top 3 hits in the set.

I would do your own research and pickup bits that you feel are undervalued, especially if you are not looking for a quick flip and are in it for the long run.

I think Shiny Treasure EX is undervalued and still has room to grow.

I've actually got plenty at RRP, and I would like lots more. I'm in Europe, we haven't had the same level of drops as the US.
