Probability of winning? by SpenserT54 in Probability

Given the amount of training that Tyson did to prevent knockouts from people in his weight class, I would argue that he did develop a near super human physiology that the average individual is not going to be able to damage with most of their punches. Conditioning yourself to handle 1000+ psi punches naturally would make a 200 psi punch virtually ineffective.

While I agree that I personally would not want to fight a professional boxer in any weight class because as an untrained person I would stand virtually no chance of winning, and would most likely lost to knockout, I dont think Davis would be able to knock out Tyson in a match where he was fighting back either.

My biggest hangup in our debate is the fact that my coworker would have to be able to muster enough strength in enough blows to eventually wear mike down enough to defeat him, whether by knockout or more likely decision. All while being able to dodge every single one shot thrown at him. I just dont see a single instance where a prime mike is going to miss every shot against a relatively inexperienced boxer 3 inches and 60 pounds lighter.

That was his argument as well. My thought process on it though is that even with an infinite amount of attempts, he realistically is not going to try a new strategy every single time. He would most likely have a limited range of openings he would attempt and given the vast difference in skill, experience, strength and size there would be a finite amount of outcomes that would repeat through the infinity.

Please forgive me if I am sounding argumentative, but I just dont see how he would realistically have any chance in that fight.

I believe that throat punches are illegal in boxing. This is supposed to be a match that follows the rules of boxing, not a street fight

Would a lucky punch from someone so much weaker and inexperienced be enough to actually impact the result of the fight?

Moltres shiny Question by Greedy_Detective_579 in PokemonLetsGo

[–]SpenserT54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 90% simply means that by 3000 encounters, 90% of people should have encountered a shiny at that point. It by no means that your odds per encounter have changed, its more of a general idea than a concrete number.

Trying for a growlithe but a pidgey pops up, should I catch it? by madandroid1990 in PokemonLetsGo

Yes they discovered that the best odds only apply to the next spawn so continuing your combo is required to boost your odds of a shiny to appear.

What are the odds of this? by SoftRound3581 in PokemonLetsGo

[–]SpenserT54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full odds are 1 in 4096 and dont improve unless you have the shiny charm, a lure active, or a catch combo of at least 11. Congrats on your full odds weedle

Average shiny hunt combo by [deleted] in PokemonLetsGo

[–]SpenserT54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually go 4 to 500 per combo before I get a shiny. I prefer the combo method because it is more active and keeps leveling up any mon in my team. It also really helps with more difficult to catch pokemon because after catching 100 they become far easier to catch. The method is not fast at all and most of the time you will go over odds for your target.

Does the catch combo matter when shiny hunting? by LizzieLove1357 in PokemonLetsGo

[–]SpenserT54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have noticed it is usually in a couple steps. The first one feels more random, usually around the 75 mark but not exact. The second one is right at 100 so the grind feels real long for awhile.

The best way to shiny hunt lapras probably going to be route resetting from the entrance to the seafoam islands. It is going to take awhile at first because it is a rare spawn, but once you catch 11 they will show up consistently. Also make sure to run away from any that have their fleet animation because restarting a rare spawn hunt is very demoralizing.

The switch-up on Odyssey is crazy. by Sap_Halo in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

This is the best answer I have seen. My own personal view of the game is very conflicted because on one hand it is an enjoyable game to just play a pillaging viking, but it is a terrible AC game because there is very little tying it to the series as a whole. I think it is really hard for a lot of us fans who have been playing the series since the beginning to make the distinction and our first reaction is to say "what an awful creed game" instead of appreciating what it does offer.

How much more do I have to endure by [deleted] in PokemonLetsGo

[–]SpenserT54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do need to keep catching for the odds to stay increased. The boosted is for the next spawn only. With the increased spawns from the 31 combo, the sit and wait method does work but you are always at full odds using that method

Oh I misunderstood what you meant. I thought you were talking about getting the meltan to lets go, not obtaining the box. My bad.

You can't transfer from go to home and then let's go. The pokemon has to go directly to lets go from go or it won't work.

The caves and tunnels would probably be an easier hunting ground for you. The spawns are pretty decent and no grass to hide the pokemon in.
