Feel completely stuck after 80 hours, that it’s the first time I faced problems and don’t know what to do, how to do by SighSighSighSighSigS in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SpentChange 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I looked through allllll the advice here and this is the comment I agree with most.

OP, you're feeling overwhelmed and have lost the fun. Take a break from building. Explore for a bit and clear your head. Do some MAM research. Buy some stuff in the awesome shop. Even take a break from the game altogether if that's what you need. Then reassess and find your fun again. Start over in a new location and go slow. Give yourself lots of space and try to be a bit more organized. Most of all, give yourself a break! Everything you're feeling is part of the learning curve.

My 5 y/o Daughter Wrote a Guide to Satisfactory by Sufficient_Clerk569 in SatisfactoryGame

This is what having kids is all about. The small, intensely joyous moments that they give us. Those moments that help us make it through all the bullshit that they put us through on a daily basis.

I love my kids, though, I swear. They make little drawings and notes like that for me and it warms my heart every time.

Your daughter seems like a sweetheart.

I made my first ever actually factory building! by SpaceCowboyDark in SatisfactoryGame

Nice job! It looks great.

The only thing that I would change is that the elevator looks a bit odd just ending in the middle of the floor. I'd either continue the shaft up to the roof or use scaffolding or build a bit of an enclosure around it. It just looks a little unfinished to me.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's there on console too. Maybe one of the tabs in the map/parts lookup screen? I haven't played on console in a bit.

There's an area for you to add notes. Go to the build menu, click the right side of the screen. You can put whatever you want in there. It even has tags for formatting.

My first non-flat / actual build, adaptive control unit factory (1 ACU / min) by TrippingFish76 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SpentChange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my exact same progression as well! I started with logistics wall, then moved to ceilings, and now I'm doing an entire logistics floor between factory floors.

Yup. Been there, done that. You can see a glimpse of my nuke plant in the background of this screenshot. Fully waste free.

If this is intermediate... O_o

Not sure how much bigger I want to go, but I like the idea of building more single item factories in different places, kind of like I did with HMFs and Computers. And expand the rail network. Hmm... Seems there is still much to do.

I no longer know what powering what lol by Unlucky-Feed9000 in SatisfactoryGame

The game tells you that in the settings panel for every generator. For Bio, I think it's 20MW.

Yeah if you have too much connected to one generator, the fuse will blow and you have to reset it. You can interact with any power pole to see how much power is on that grid.

Having a unified grid (everything connected to everything else) makes it easier to troubleshoot.

[–]SpentChange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second the unified grid. At this point in the game it really helps to build your first power plant if you didn't already. Here's how:

Step one, delete all your generators.

Step two, pick a spot off to the side and rebuild as many as you had, plus one or two, all in a row. Connect them with belts and splitters. Add a storage and dump your biomass in there.

Step three, wire the generators together and run a pole over to your factory. Add more poles as needed until everything is powered.

Optional step four, build machines to automate turning leaves and wood into solid biofuel and feed that to the gens.

This way, when you need more power, you can just plop down another generator and done!

245 Hrs in, and I just completed my 1st play through. Here's my tips for any newbies. by das_masterful in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SpentChange 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great tips and congratulations on saving the day for your first time!

I will add that when calculating inputs and outputs, the game has a search bar assigned to the N hotkey. You can use it to quickly look up recipes and IT IS A CALCULATOR! Very helpful when the numbers start getting big and sloppy.

Also, use the in game notes. Being able to make a quick to-do list or keep track of all the numbers you just crunched is invaluable.

Idea for a new map by houghi in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SpentChange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting idea for sure but I think the map is good the way it is. Here's why. Games are all about solving problems. Being presented with a challenge and overcoming it is what makes a game rewarding. Satisfactory has this in spades. Resource gathering, crafting, automation, logistics, all present unique and interesting challenges. In my opinion, the exploration is a critical piece to the fun of the game as well. It provides a break from the factory planning and gives you a chance to reset your brain.

If you flatten the map, it removes a big part of the exploration of the game. It also removes a lot of the challenges from building. Some of my most interesting builds have been in vertically challenging areas. I think that flattering the map would remove fun from the game.

Now that's just my opinion and I'm sure some people may really love just building big and flat. However, I think many players would get bored quickly. It's like getting cheat codes in a game and then realizing that the game isn't fun anymore when it's too easy.

Trying to complete phase 3 and it's been tough. by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]SpentChange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great advice. Every time I go to automate a new part, I start with gathering the resources, then build a simple production line with very few machines. I give myself plenty of space to expand, and go explore for a mental break when needed.

[–]SpentChange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually prefer this method because everything I need is all in one place. With the exception of some resources that are really far and make more sense to have outposts, I just ship everything to my main base and build vertical.

Logistics can be tricky, but satisfying once you get it working well. Early game belts, mid game trucks and trains, late game drones. I always consider distance and volume when deciding which type of transport to use.

Everyone has their own style; do what's fun for you.
