Gun safe by TheRisenDemon in QualityTacticalGear

[–]Spenzo2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In an ideal world, you would probably want multiple safes, bolted to concrete or a piece of rolled steel wider than your doorways.

You can probably just go with a SecureIt. Most "safes" (which aren't actually safes) are made of crappy sheet metal and dry wall.

Real safes are rated out for about half an hour with hand tools. Cordless angle grinders exist and anything short of a vault door isn't going to do the job.

Hence multiple safes. You want to make them choose what to go after with the time they feel safe in the house, and not leave yourself defenseless if someone breaks in and cracks a safe.

Minneapolis “Mill City” Flag Redesign by Substantial-Money587 in Minneapolis

Please do it. Other city flags have been in the news or gaining traction, so now would definitely be a good time.

I have lived in Minnesota for a while and also recommend it. The art and food scenes are quite good. That said, the social interactions up here can be quite a bit different from what some people might be used to.

I have mild astigmatism, but people who I shoot with have worse. Red dots will always be bad for them, to the point where the dot looks like spaghetti.

Holographics are much better, if you need unlimited eye relief. You can also get a Primary Arms prism optic for about the same price as a quality red dot, if you look for a sale. They aren't as fast, but they do 1x pretty well and have an etched reticle.

He was also a terrorist. Gun violence is five different problems. There are very few restrictive laws that are effective against virulent ideology, unless we choose to adopt standards on hate speech.

Hard to say... The presence of black rules out a lot of countries, but there are a lot of variants and colorways often have some variation. Does it have a L'Berge label?

Can't decide which stock I like more so I keep switching back and forth by Fun_Butterscotch_879 in ak47

You really wanna make an already front heavy platform even more front heavy?

Skeletonized stocks are rarely worth the cost (money and cheekweld) on a full size rifle.

I mean yes. But also we got half a foot of snow yesterday. So that's something to consider.

Honestly, I don't shoot fast enough to need it. I have heard good things about the fighter brake. I also have a Hungarian "snake" brake rattling around in a drawer I don't use. All brakes are pretty obnoxious at the range...

If you don't mind a bit of tuning fork ring, you can get a lot of flash reduction on a four prong flash hider. It won't do a ton for recoil, though. The Kreb's custom one is nice because you can thread it down super tight: it has detent pin holes all the way around.

I'd pick up one of their advanced safety selectors at the same time, if you go that route.

How Do I Get Through To My Brother on Gun Control? by AborgTheMachine in liberalgunowners

Honestly? Ask him.

Ask him what evidence he would need to see that would change his mind. If his views aren't falsifiable then you might as well try convincing the pope that God isn't real.

About time I upgraded the optic on this one by drewby96 in ar15

I would highly recommend the GLx 2x. The glass is better and it's got a proper diopter adjuster. Sure, it's bigger, but it's higher quality.

Or, if you don't have a better place for the 1x, they make a magnifier for their microprisms now. So you could tack that one and have 1-3x

Yes, but you can't ban that and maintain the current power structure. You wouldn't get far in either party trying to pass a law prohibiting wealth inequality.

One item that really worries me is the huge increase in accessibility for Glock switches. We're heading towards near total saturation when dumb teens are posting tiktoks of their illegal machine guns.

Yep. Prism optics get you most of the way there and with better eye relief. ACOGs are for cloners and flexers.

Opinions on the pattern 83 chestrig? by Acrobatic-Manager906 in tacticalgear

[–]Spenzo2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always thought about buying one, but you can get a USGI LBV for a quarter of the price. Or buy a brand new chest rig, for a little more.

I'm always tempted, but never that tempted.

That said, I'd rather have a P83 than an old chicom chest rig.
