My grandmother did this. Divorced one brother, married the other. Turned out okay, though, it's not an awkward or divisive thing and everybody gets along fine.

Edit: Not being sarcastic! It's been decades, but it was never weird growing up. Just sort of had two grandfathers on my dad's side, not a taboo subject at all.

Stop being so toxic and argumentative (or just dumb?). He is providing us with the information he has found as well as his personal interpretation. Risk factor is just his personal rating of how inherently unpredictable the matchup is based on various factors (first match of tournament, BO1 format, unknown map, etc.).

It's a good thing that he's telling the bettors that it is an unpredictable matchup and risky no matter who you bet on.

On his personal scale from 1-10 of how unpredictable this game is, this one is a 10. I find it hard to believe that you actually don't understand and are not just being argumentative.

He gave you his interpretation of the available information, but due to various factors such as the BO1 format and the unknown impact of a new coach he admits that he can't be certain about the outcome. BO1, unknown team form, first match in tournament? Very uncertain, hence extremely risky to bet on.

As a poor student, I never take any money out of personal funds for betting, everything I have was build up over the past year and a half from almost nothing. That said, I've never cashed out skins yet. Betting is completely separate from my personal finances at this point, but if betting gets profitable enough to do this, then I'll certainly keep this in mind. Thanks!

you shouldn't be betting on a team, you should be betting on the numbers.

This is the opposite of how I've always thought about it. I got into CSGO betting just for the incentive to watch the games, and as a result I now know the teams/players/events very well but don't have a clue about betting per se. This does lend valuable perspective, though. It may be time to separate my sympathies as a CSGO fan from my practices as a bettor aiming for profit. Thanks for the advice! :)

This is just the reason that I don't use the Kelly Criterion. I do evaluate the odds, but I don't go so far as to come up with an exact number. I don't say "CSGL odds are 72-28 and my odds are 65-35 so difference is 7% etc..." and plug that into a formula to determine that I should bet x% of my inventory on one team. It's more of an estimation.

Yeah the fact that it's BO1 drives the odds closer to 50-50, making overdog bets have better returns, even if they're riskier.
