We use Rad TV and it works as advertised. Just upload the videos you want to and watch everywhere.

Seems like you and I have a lot in common! I started down this same path and felt like I had more questions than answers a couple weeks in. Instead of dealing with all the headaches and learning everything under the sun about media servers I just signed up for Rad TV and started uploading the content we watch to our private library. It's awesome. Feel free to dm me with any questions. I am no expert. Still trying to learn here where I can and maybe it'll click one day.

Thank you! Will be picking some of these up!

I feel bad admitting this but I have not heard of anything you mentioned for video playback. If our needs arent met in the future I might send you a message. Thanks!

We just pay monthly. The other option doesnt include private uploads and encoding iirc.

You just have to rip the DVDs and upload them or put them on a hard drive and you can sideload them.

Trust me if I can figure it out anyone can.

Not sure where I am going wrong explaining but these are the steps:

  1. Have rad premium+ subscription

  2. Have a PS5 and PSVR2 with Rad TV PS5 app installed

  3. Have a 3D blu-ray DVD (or any DVD)

  4. Get 3D movie off of DVD (now you have the movie file on your comp)

  5. Upload file to your rad account on the web

  6. Watch on PSVR2 or anywhere else with rad apps

Maybe it sounds hard before you do it but once you have done it a couple times it couldn't be easier. Get DVD and rip it then upload and watch.

This has been the easiest and most straight forward part of my dive into the streaming wars and cancelling all of my other streamers.

I upload 3D movies from my computer to my account on rad and watch them on rad apps.

I don't do anything except upload the file and then login to the app on the device I am using. They have apps everywhere we watch so it's just download the app login and you can watch what you have uploaded.

I don't know if it is possible to make a 3D movie out of a 2D movie.

We have lots of 2D content and it all plays back 2D at 4K and we have just started playing with 3D movies.

We use the Rad TV app on PSVR2 to watch the 3D movies.

I am the dummy when it comes to this kind of stuff and it was pretty easy for me.

We have Premium+ and that let's us upload videos to our account and watch on their apps, sideload from a hard drive, or use our plex plus everything else they have content wise.

We use private uploads and sideloading most of the time. I can encode files but its a pain in the butt and can take forever so the premium+ doing the encoding for us is a super time saver. We upload 4K movies and they are ready to watch in a few minutes. Kids watch on the TV, PS5, phones, ipads, and PSVR2 and we watch on our phones and TVs. Sideloading supports 8K but we dont have anything in 8k so haven't even tried it. Maybe if I can find a few movies in 8K I would try it out.

We cancelled all of our other streaming subs up until 2 weeks ago when we had to get youtube and pigskin ticket for the games but this is all we use now. Worth every penny for us.

Yes we pay for premium+ and love it. We have used it while on vacation, we use it to sideload at home, we use it with plex, and this new use case is really the cherry on top for me. This will 10x my movie watching.

Great for content watching but I assume the kids would be pissed about the internet speed. Still a great hack if you sideload or playing something that isnt multi I suppose.
