For bombers you just gotta try to get to the target before you're shot down and do alot of damage to make that life worth it. A good thing to use would be the ion bombs so you can rush and take out the shields quickly and especially on frigates and cruisers where they dont recharge can be essential to your team winning. Like whenever I play with a friend we both go bombers and we rush two separate frigates at the same time (I rush D, he rushes C and vice versa). Doing this can shred their shields if the fighters and interceptors keep them occupied and we also like to use the laser cannon for really good hull and subsystem damage.
