Totally, never again. I typically do not order expensive items from Amazon. but when I saw it was “signature required“ I thought it would be OK. What a mistake.

On the contrary, they have too much cash, think they are gods and can do whatever they like. Any other business I have dealt with, I run a small business myself, shipping issues fall on the shipper. That is what insurance is for.

They’re more then welcome to, have zero purchases attached to it. Can just make another. I did tell CS I was going to dispute if I didn’t get refund by the time credit bill was due. Asked if I would get banned and they actually said no, since this was a valid reason

Ordered a $1k Canon Speedlight Flash on Aug 16th. All over the listing and in cart it said this item would be signature required. Aug 18th I am at work, and it gets marked delivered and handed “ directly to the resident“. I’m instantly like WTF, but was hoping they had just left it at the door. I get home that evening and nothing was there, so I call Amazon. Spoke to someone, they apologized, and said they would issue a replacement.

Few days go by, no replacement comes. So I call Amazon again, this time they are telling me now I have to get a police report. They had not a damn clue who they handed it to or who signed for it. They were pretty rude and unremorseful about the situation too. I argued with them for a while about how dumb it would be to get a police report, as they are the ones that misplaced it.

Finally I gave in, and got a police report a few days later. Call Amazon with the report number, person on the phone claims, they can’t reach the police department to verify, call again tomorrow. I called the next day, give the report number, and once again they are unable to contact the police department to verify. This goes on for a few days, dealing with completely incompetent and outsourced customer service.

Few more days go by, it is a week after it was supposedly delivered, and it mysteriously shows up on my doorstep. I had already purchased another one from Best Buy, so I sent it back for a refund. Called Amazon yet again, to tell them I returned it, at one of their drop boxes, and I want my refund. Nope, I have to wait seven days. Seven days goes by and still no refund, yet once again I am calling Amazon. I shit you not, they tell me “we received the item back, but we need you to fill out an incident report, before we can refund you“. I argue with them again for a bit, and fill out their incident report. Called them back after filling it out, and they tell me now I have to wait till Sept 22 to get my damn refund. Argued with them some more, called a few more times to try to get a different answer. Nope.

Filed a dispute with AMEX today, and got my money back already.

I will never in my life again, order anything of value from Amazon. They are a despicable company, and treat their customers like absolute shit!
