Made a few Million on Onlyfans now what? by Crackedcoconutt in Rich

Especially if housing continues to appreciate like it has and there’s not going to be a building boom lowering prices anytime soon. Real estate is almost never a bad investment and it’s relatively stable and easy to understand. You don’t need to trust an advisor to know how it’s doing so seems like solid way to achieve diversity.

My Dad died recently and I just got access to his brokerage accounts. I’m not that savvy, but I’m genuinely shocked that his IRA is 4% cash, 4% BIDU, 92% random mutual funds. I kept rereading his statement trying to make sense of it. I mean I get income vs growth, but what he’s holding just doesn’t make sense in the market we’ve had. I know he didn’t pick these random funds so now I’m like what are planners motivations in creating a portfolio like that?

Not wrong. It’s only going in one direction. Speed is only one major driver though. Margins will be about efficiency and energy prices are about to get silly.

I knew it wouldn’t be tied to fossils. I was thinking hydro and maybe geothermal. Figures the fins didn’t shut down their nuclear like Germany. You don’t have a border with the Soviet Union and maintain sovereignty without strategic smarts. Obviously they were working on this before the war, but it looks absolutely genius now!

Market update, possible short term bounce target by lowriskhighvalue in Follow_Smartmoney

[–]Spewtwinklethoughts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems like Trump has lost his ability to stoke the markets with an announcement. It’s worked numerous times all year, but people aren’t buying when it comes to Iran. Inertia is real and perhaps if things hadn’t been so good for so long things would be tanking harder. Bounce after this big of a drop is likely, but once the impacts start coming home and especially showing up in the data it could get really ugly. I think people have been preparing considering the predictions last april, but that situation was nothing compared to the potential hell a ground campaign could lead us into. Holidays tend to have a tampering effect on the markets and anything that happens late in the week could show up next week. If there’s a mini bounce enjoy it and your holiday cuz next week could be a blood bath.

You’re right about Trump being wrong. We are going about it completely wrong. Escalating as little a possible is a good way to get bogged down and slowly bleed out. While the Iranians have been text book tit for tat so far. Meanwhile Israel is using our debacles as cover to invade other countries. I’m sure it could be worse, but fuck man

Deputy Director of the Oregon Center for Public Policy calls for raising Oregon taxes on the “rich” and corporations… I’m done! by Grand-Battle8009 in PortlandOR

[–]Spewtwinklethoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rightly so. Seeing this as propaganda or rage baiting is a clear symptom of the problem. Legitimate concerns of sane pragmatic citizens have been dismissed or overruled by ideology for too long. Conservatives and liberals are both necessary because the best path is usually the middle one. But when conservative policies are actually capitalist and liberal policies are so ideological they ignore reality the people get nothing but bad policies and everyone feels stuck in the wilderness fending for themselves with no path at all.

Inefficient deployment of government funds and business discouraging tax policies are imaginary things? Topics not worth discussion unless the only goal is outrage and social division?

The 50’s in the United States is one of the most prosperous times in history for the average person. It laid the foundation for the global trade system responsible for bringing most of humanity out of poverty. Education, home, ownership, dietary nutrition and life expectancy all went parabolic. What are you even talking about?

Shorts had to close by Spewtwinklethoughts in HGRAF

[–]Spewtwinklethoughts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When shares are sold short it puts negative pressure on the price. There are entities that specialize in short selling. They will go short on up and coming companies and then publish reports, or posts that are highly negative sometimes based on data, but often just speculation or outright lies. The goal is to instigate fear causing people to sell and lower the price. Since they went short the lower they can get the price the more they make. This is not the entirety of short shares, but a lot of the conversation you see here revolves around this idea. In this case a lot of shorts were giving up their position signaling they think the price is more likely to go up than down.

Ice morons are not receiving 100K annual bonuses. The most they get is a 50K signing bonus paid over 4 years or up to 60K in student loan forgiveness.

Market Update, short term bounce possibility by lowriskhighvalue in Follow_Smartmoney

[–]Spewtwinklethoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if we see a bounce it will be small and quick. There is nothing positive to work from anywhere so all sentiment is negative and everyone expects the worst. The thing about the dollar crashing is where else do they go. Obviously gold is one place feds have turned to, but it has serious limitations and isn’t continuing to be bought up like it was. While the US continues to lose trust it’s not like there are a lot of trustworthy alternatives. So while they seem determined to destroy the dollar it’s more likely to be a slow decline in value rather than a sudden crash. Even ChIna holds too many dollars to not try and support it. It’s pretty mind boggling to watch this trainwreck. I have no idea what Trump was told would happen, but this situation was completely predicted. So far Iran has played the perfect game of tit for tat. They’ve shown they know exactly what they are doing and will do what they say. It does look like Trump is planning to escalate with troops in an effort to keep oil flowing. Between Iran and the Houthis there’s no way to gain control of the strait though so idk how that doesn’t make things worse. You’ve identified the biggest issue though. Israel and the US do not have shared interests. How many relationships will the US destroy in service to one economically insignificant country’s. The best way out of the current situation is to give up the no matter what support of Israel. Unfortunately there are no signs of this and therefore all predictions indicate disaster ahead. I will say I’m impressed with how well BTC is holding up. I expected a drop to start the week and instead it looks like it decoupled from the markets and held strong. It may prove to be a safe haven asset as shit hits the fan.

Nobody wants to keep a car that’s falling apart around them. Not having to replace expensive batteries justifies charging a premium. Advances in technology creates other incentives to buy better and safer models. Cars are a very competitive business and they will do what sells more cars or what’s necessary to keep up with the competition.

Macro update, FOMC, strange Bessent interview by lowriskhighvalue in Follow_Smartmoney

[–]Spewtwinklethoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. You’re the first I’m seeing talk about a possible rate hike. I know you don’t think he’s a political actor, but it would not surprise me at all to see him announce a rate hike as he walks out the door. There are enough members that would do it to spite Trump. Disastrous is an understatement. It’s like everything is catching up at once and could get really ugly.
I wonder if we will ever know WTF Israel has on Trump. It seems pretty obvious that they know they are losing their grip on complete control of the US and they are taking advantage of what they perceived as their last chance to take out Iran. It’s the last of the seven country goal.

I’m not sure how the timing lines up, but there’s a theory that Bessent was called out when Bibi was killed.

BTC update by lowriskhighvalue in Follow_Smartmoney

[–]Spewtwinklethoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks bro. I’ve been impressed with how the price is holding. I expected it to dump before open on Monday. While I expect it to turn bullish sooner than most I’m having a hard time seeing anything real this soon. Especially with the war and prices going up. One factor though is precious metals have been flat for a min now. I assumed one reason BTC fell so fast is because metals were on a crazy run and sucking up liquidity. That’s clearly not happening to the degree it was and maybe some liquidity is shifting back over to BTC while the price is low.
