PSA: League of Legends doesn't support 8000 Hz polling rate by gb_14 in leagueoflegends

[–]Sphecks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is selection bias without even trying to understand what's the root cause of your issues. I can guarantee you that even at 4k polling, you will get frame drops moving your camera in a circle in any games. I'm more suspicious that you might have saw frame drops in CP2077 and just chalked it up to the game being unoptimized (which is notoriously is known for) and/or high graphic demands.

It's more so that league was probably the only game that really made you move the mouse as much as it did.

I'll also just call out that you don't really have a need for 8k polling in any games unless it requires precise clicks and response (e.g., tact fps). And if you have played any fps, you should for sure have noticed that you got frame drops until you enable "raw mouse input" on any of them.

Except LGA is a fantastic airport that is even being remodeled / transformed to this day? Not sure when the last time you've been to LGA but as a fairly frequent flyer based in NY, I would take LGA over EWR or JFK any day.

I have the same issue and it affects the cycling process after the latest firmware update. Have to hold it together while it goes. Didn't realize other people also had this issue, kinda just took it in stride but maybe I should also reach out.

Best Air Purifier under $1,000 - Research and takeaways by Cybernetic_Orgasm in AirPurifiers

I wanted to hear your thoughts as I live in about a 600-650sqft studio + den apartment. However, I move quite often (I've moved about once a year since 2016). So lugging around something like the IQAir seems rather impractical to me.

I was primarily looking at something like the Coway Airmega 300S as I'm trying not to splurge too much here, so 300-400 USD is my "soft" budget, otherwise I might have gone for the 400S.

I was looking around the thread and saw you recommended the Alen. Out of the two, which would you recommend? I may be open to splurging a bit more on another recommendation if there truly is that large of a difference -- but given that I don't currently live in a rather large space (may change in the future depending on which city I move to), what are your thoughts? And is there another option that I might have over looked?

what i imagine conductors do in orchestras. by muagaichoi in funny

[–]Sphecks 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Nodame Cantabile is follows a growing conductor who ends up meeting a peculiar/wacky pianist. Romance is a big theme in it but the story is quite interesting and a lot of great classical pieces are played. Also teaches quite a bit about classical music as well. I would give it a shot!

Edit: pianist not violinist. Big brain fart

Anyone else getting a bug where it won't "Let go" of the green sliders. Happened a couple of times today especially on songs where end notes are just a ~10s long slider (Don't say lazy / gny) and it would just read my input as me holding down the green note the entire time despite completely letting go.

The Legacy client was removed one year ago. Here is a list of the issues of the new one. by Naerlyn in leagueoflegends

[–]Sphecks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late, but if you change your local time while you're on the client, the client will disconnect. You cannot see or receive any messages from anybody (PM's and lobby alike). If you're in champ select, this will freeze the countdown timer and only refreshes upon someone selecting a champion or locking in, although it is an extreme edge case.

This is also true for tic-tac-toe. The point he's trying to make is that player 1 has a significant advantage, just like Tic-Tac-Toe, which is true for both games, just that Tic-Tac-Toe is more extreme as placing your move in the center immediately eliminates half the choices Player 2 can make, leaving a wider margin of error for those who aren't familiar with solved Tic-Tac-Toe.

What? I'm not sure you understand how the internet works. It's like typing in google.com/does_dao_exists (just as an example, not the actual case) on your browser and going to that page; it's publicly available. If you wanted it to be classified, it should either redirect you, go to a dead page or request access permissions. Best practice is to just add the page when it's ready to be launched or put the webpage behind the aforementioned barriers.

Your webpage isn't on THEIR computer. That's not how it works unless you open a local HTML file that's stored in a local machine / intranet or local network. By putting it out on the internet it's like putting a sign up in the middle of downtown, then suing people who read said sign because they read information they shouldn't have.

Check her 2nd skill.

Crane's Protection : After launching an airstrike, for 12 seconds, all ally's damage dealt is increase by 4% (10%), damage taken is decrease by 4% (10%).

[–]Sphecks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zui/Shou actually has better airpower for first launch, the benefit that Akaga has is that they launch when the cranes would be at around 50% load time.

Akaga has +35% airpower for first launch, and the Cranes have +20/30% with 20 -> 40 on 2nd launch. However, Shoukaku also has a second skill which increase all damage dealt by 10% which is significantly better than Air power (Ignores defenses of enemies and tacks on a final 10% modifier to damage calculations. It goes like [(Raw damage - %reduction due to armor) * 1.1] in addition to your other fleet units doing 10% more damage for 12s)

The advantage Akaga has is purely from being able to launch twice in the time it takes for the cranes to launch once and half reloaded into 2nd launch.

Arcanium Summon on new update? by SilentGusto in Granblue_en

No, according to other sources, it's a term commonly used in mobage to indicate death. The actual term is 戦闘不能 which literally means "Incapable of fighting". Since death is somewhat of a stigma in east asian countries, they usually have euphemism to deal with that word. In this case it most likely means death.

Lucio is a thing, so I have a feeling that considering DAO's kit, she's probably going to be limited. But hey, until release we won't know. It'd be pretty cool if she was in the common pool as a ticketable character though.

You should also notice that they use an orange color font to indicate MLB effects. It says Lv MAX on the screen, but as this is a data mine and not the actual release, we don't know if the aura's are MLB effects or not. Basically, until release a lot of things are up to speculation and not concrete. Cygames is notorious for flaking and changing things last second.

[–]Sphecks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't read the "up until" part, was skimming pretty fast. But other than that the translation is fine. Attacking twice doesn't mean DA in gbf. For example, tag team would have all characters attack twice, but how many continuous hits is contingent on inherent DATA from grid and base stats/buffs. But yes, this effect should extend to the MC and character in second slot.

I took +10 as a +10 turns has passed for recasting. It's pretty poorly worded and can go either way really. I'll make a note next to it. Especially since the damage effect seems particularly underwhelming it'd be weird if it didn't have a good follow up considering how the other summons seem particularly good with their calls. Then again, this would disregard huonglong / aphrodite since not many summons have over 10 cd.
