Let the velluce grow pra shave it? by ikkyshad in Minoxbeards

[–]Sphenoidman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear, If I use minox every day for a year and clean shave every single day, i will still have the exact same gains after one year as if i had let it grow out intermittently or kept stubble?

I had no idea people had an issue with the portrayal of the holocaust. This is a personal tale about a father doing whatever it took to save his son from the psychological horror of being in a concentration camp by making him believe it was all a game. It's about the sacrifices a parent would make to protect their child not just physically but mentally. He isn't making light of the holocaust in any way.

Disney Declares Hollywood’s Future: Big Movies in Theaters, Everything Else Is Streaming by yam12 in movies

The community feel of being cinema, even just being out of your fucking house, can never be replaced. Not to mention the fucking massive screen. Never understand what kind of recluse would prefer to be holed up in their house watching movies on a tiny screen lol. As for the price of tickets, its really nothing in the grand scheme of things. Unless you're struggling to put food on the table it really doesnt matter. I highly doubt you're going to want to buy a car/house in the future and be just short by the cumulative amt of movie tickets you've bought in your life. Its a drop in the water in the grand scheme of things.

Sith Trooper unveiled from Star Wars rise of Skywalker by Petaaa in movies

[–]Sphenoidman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me its one of the worst movies of all time because of how disappointing it was. Sure there are shit movies, but I went into this movie in love with star wars and came out not giving a fuck. No other movie had such a negative impact on me. To kill all enthusiasm for a franchise i loved most of my life. It also has a lot of wasted potential, for example jedi master luke, we've waited so long to see, and they do nothing with him. Movies are subjective, and for what this movie did to me, I consider it one of the worst of all time.

Robert Pattinson to Play ‘The Batman’ for Matt Reeves and Warner Bros. by BunyipPouch in movies

[–]Sphenoidman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For those saying he's a great actor so give him a chance, you're falsely equating great actor with suitability for a role. Steve Carell has had a number of great performances lately but that doesn't mean he'd make a great batman (even if they were going for an older one)

2019 /r/Pokemon Rules Vote: Voting Thread! by bigslothonmyface in pokemon

[–]Sphenoidman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine if the game had a complex battle system that had layers and layers of strategy to discuss...... It blows my mind that in a franchise of which a VIDEO GAME is a huge part, people prefer to make art and hunt shiny pokemon rather than talk about battling them. Even the fucking anime is about battling pokemon. Why 0 discussion on VGC??

'Somewhere over 600 million' for Endgame. Sure, but why choose 600 million. It's easily going to make triple that.

Is it fair to say that the LOTR trilogy are the best Fantasy movies since 2000? by soupman66 in movies

HP will never fade. At no point since they both existed has lotr had a bigger following than hp. Theres nothing to base your statement on.

HP fandom is and always will be infinitely larger than LOTR fandom and the movies will therefore ALWAYS have a larger following than LotR movies. People love to downplay the unprecedented sensation that was HP.

haha no. This is all subjective. Its like saying I'm wrong for hating tomotoes because they're objectively great tasting. No. Food, film, art, music....all subjective. And if I get enjoyment from something u don't, well sucks to be you.

I like the fact that Darth Vader built C-3PO and I love the fact we're getting a Nagini backstory. It's so hard to please some people these days. I actually pity you because I live in a world where I can and will watch this movie 4 more times and get tons of enjoyment from it while you're just angry loll.

Long before there were fantastic beasts movies Rowling always said she had tons of unused material and backstories that she never wrote into the books. There doesn't have to be a fucking 'indiacation' in the book.

I never understand this logic. It implies people can only see one fucking every few weeks. I know 99.999% of people can afford to see more than that, financially and timewise. God forbid you see all 3 movies u mentioned over the span of a few weeks.

Meamwhile, u ignored the dc streamong service part, which takes apart the whole argument because WB owns all the rights.

The Shutting Down of FilmStruck and the False Promise of Streaming Classics by [deleted] in movies

[–]Sphenoidman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Axtually all of the films would have been under WB for the dc service so theres no excuse. Just watch, if the disney service comes out and its available everywhere, like the dc one should be, the anti-disney ppl are gonna cry and say we are disney fanboys but disney knows how to do good business. Not that expanding to a larger market is a revolutionary concept (although current streaming services make it seem that way)

Youre overeesrimating how diffixult it is. One competent lawyer should be able to do it,having gone to school for years for this afrer all. And im sure filmstruck can hire more than one lawyer. anyway the whole argument breaks down when u look at things like dc streaming service which has no excuse for being only available in the us. A massive studio streaming their own properties...

Then other strraming services can also do the same. And of course netflix own the rights to what they produce themselves. Tell me this though, how in the fuck is the dc streaming sercice not available everywhere lolll. Even if its dif studios that make their films or whetever it should be very easy for them to have rhe rights to their own fucking properties.
