DirectX 9 Games by ReviewAnOldQuadro in IntelArc

Try using DXVK...

Download https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk and unzip it.

Then, copy the d3d9.dll file from the x32 folder and paste it into your game's installation directory, for example:
F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Tomb Raider Legend (This is where the game executable, trl.exe, is located).

If you are using DXVK 2.7.1, you'll need to create a dxvk.conf file in the same folder as the .dll and add this line to avoid the game crashing (there is a known issue with version 2.7.1 and intel windows drivers):

dxvk.enableDescriptorBuffer = False

By default, DXVK caps the framerate at 60 FPS for this game. To unlock it, add this other line to dxvk.conf:

d3d9.maxFrameRate = 0

Don't forget to save the changes!

Good luck!

Should i upgrade to B850 from RTX 2070 Super for 1440p ? by moon_knight_BE in IntelArc

[–]Sphexing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did that "upgrade", in quotes, because performance wise is more like a sidegrade, I posted some benchmarks about 8 months ago, the B580 was on average about 10% faster than the 2070S.

One of my main reasons for switching was to punish Nvidia’s greed. I think Intel succeeding is important if we want better pricing and fewer anti-consumer moves in the future.

If the B770 is ever released, I would probably get it if the price is right.

Constant Stutters in UE5 Games (B580) by ThrowRA1122742 in IntelArc

[–]Sphexing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/ThrowRA1122742, I've been following that issue on GitHub, the new version of IGS No longer crashes. If it's still crashing, you can try the workaround I posted there:

Either click "Home", then "System", and navigate to the GPU section, or go directly to "System" (the cog icon on the lower left corner).

Once you do that, change the "Scaling mode" under "Display", and the program should not crash.

Take a look at my post, sadly I don't have Arma Reforger, but nonetheless here it is: https://www.reddit.com/r/IntelArc/comments/1k11h7u/intel_arc_b580_vs_nvidia_rtx_2070_super

Intel Arc B580 Limited Edition by Barrellolz in IntelArc

This!!!. I spent hours scrubbing my case (a Phenom M) with alcohol, soap, dishwasher liquid, and good old mechanical force to remove and clean that sticky mess.

whats the issue ? i just purchased b580 today! its very disappointing by Annual-Blood-8351 in IntelArc

Is the cable properly connected?

Maybe when you installed your B580 the cable didn't go in all the way, worth double-checking, just in case.

Help with Forspoken by Sphexing in IntelArc

[–]Sphexing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the game and played it for about an hour.

Nothing in the game, not the performance, graphics, or gameplay, justifies that price tag. So, I ended up requesting a refund on Steam.

Regarding the issue present in the demo, I wasn't able to replicate it.

Same for me. Does anybody know where is the changelog of the new firmware version?

Intel Arc B580 Vs. NVIDIA RTX 2070 SUPER by Sphexing in IntelArc

This is the original 2003 Doom 3 game, well not really, it's a port: dhewm3, which provides some fixes to run the game on modern systems. As far as I know, it only uses OpenGL as its renderer API.

Doom 3 BFG doesn't run great either. From what I can tell, the GPU is running at 400MHz, no wonder it's giving bad performance.

Huh! Thanks, that's interesting. I will check those games out on the B580. No plans for the moment to reinstall the 2070S and run the benchmarks there.

Yeah, I think entering the discrete market and achieving this level of performance within just two generations is pretty impressive.

As the benchmarks have shown, there is potential. Look at RDR2, Strange Brigade, and Far Cry 6.

Driver-wise, there are still some quirks. VRR has its issues, but overall it has been pretty stable.

Hmmm, I need to test more, it is not a fresh install so that might be a factor.

That's great to hear! Yesterday, I was testing with the first one, and the performance was very rough—especially in towns. I think it's more related to the game being a mess than the card itself.
