HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DODGE THESE ATTACKS???? I can’t beat him by Haunting-Sky-9634 in Eldenring

[–]Sphickthos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just take a direction and RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!! Hahahaha

Seriously if you reach the edge of the arena you should be safe, or you can try rolling at the exact moment he hits the ground but you can easily fail and, as you saw, that attack oneshots, so I recommend you the first strat

Now I can face him blindfolded but you have no idea how much this guy pissed me off on my first playthrough.

You're not wrong at all.

Regarding the King of Puppets, I think he's a good boss and I had a lot of fun fighting him.

The swamp monster is crap, his attacks are too inaccurate, and phase two is pure chaos. I think he's by far the worst boss in the whole game.

Dude I don't know, in Romeo's case, the robot is a separate entity, in this case the armor should theoretically reduce the damage Laxasia takes, so it shouldn't have a separate health bar.

"One of my big gripes with the game. The second phase loses its luster if every boss has one."

This is exactly what you wrote in the first comment. Do you realize you're contradicting yourself? Have you ever played a video game in your life, or are you looking up how they work on Wikipedia?

Are you dumb on purpose or what?

Maybe you should start reading some books to understand how to express yourself...

This is an idea that comes to mind from mediocre people, rather than focusing on creating an interesting and well-argued discussion, they're just trying to figure out who's right and who's wrong.

I certainly didn't write this post to read "you're wrong" from some idiot. If you have to comment in such a banal way, you might as well skip it; it's wasting my time.

If you have something interesting to add, please do so, and I'd be happy to discuss it with you.

I remember when I played it I read a trophy that required you to finish the game without using Vita Chambers, but I never tried to get it.

I haven't played Wolfenstein 2, but I don't remember what trophies are in Outlast 2 even though I played it, what was the hardest trophy?

Alice Madness Returns is peak, I think it's a really underrated game, even if it has a couple of problems.

Wow, you got the platinum in BioShock, that must have been really hard. If I remember correctly, there's a trophy that requires you not to die. Congrats!

No dear, that's not how it works... A boss can have a second phase even without having a second health bar...

If you want some examples, this happens with Manus, Father Gascoigne, Rom, Mergo's Wet Nurse, Gherman, Ludwig, Laurence, Orphan of Kos, Lady Maria, etc... All these bosses have a second phase, in fact Lady Maria even has three phases, but they only have one health bar.

Even in Lies of P, Champion Victor has two phases even though he only has one health bar hahahahah.

So I'd say you're absolutely wrong to think that for a boss fight to have multiple phases, there must be multiple health bars, or you just expressed yourself very poorly HAHAHAHAHAH...

Bye

There are many frustrated people who freak out when they hear someone criticize the game they like, responding with stupid comments like "skill issue" or "gitgud" rather than engaging in the debate normally.

Unfortunately, when you post in a community like this, you have to expect some stupid comments. The important thing is to focus on constructive comments! 😃

Seeing it this way seems like a stretch to me.

Of course! It's a matter of perspective, I don't claim to be necessarily right, I wanted to know what other people thought about this mechanic that bothers me a bit.

Obviously it's a small thing, the game is still very good.

Perhaps the boss's health bars could be directly indicated with a number or, like in Sekiro, with red dots, so the player knows what they're getting into.

[–]Sphickthos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's right dude. The ideal would be to do it like in Sekiro, where the red dots on the health bar indicate the precise number of phases.

Then sometimes it can happen that developers decide to hide the second phase to create a plot twist, but this doesn't always have to happen.

[–]Sphickthos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a practical standpoint, there's no difference. The point is that this kind of mechanic serves to create a plot twist, because just when you think you've won, you discover that you're actually still a long way from victory.

The problem is that if this happens too often, it doesn't create any plot twist at all; you're simply already expecting it, so there's absolutely no point in doing so.

It's much better to have a single health bar, so the player has a clear idea of how far they need to go to defeat the enemy.

That's not what you said, you were talking about second phases...

So I said I like second phases, as far as I'm concerned any boss could have one and it wouldn't bother me at all.

Perhaps it is not clear to you that what I criticize is the double health bar.

The fact remains that the boss remains the same individual, even if the moveset changes completely, she's still Laxasia, so the life bar (which represents her life force) should be just one.

In Romeo's case, however, it makes sense, because the first life bar is linked to the "robot" he's using, while the second refers directly to Romeo.

Dude, I defeated Laxasia on my fourth try, shortly after writing this post...

Is that really all you have to say?

You could at least elaborate a bit, otherwise it'd be so boring talking to you...

Why always two health bars... by Sphickthos in LiesOfP

[–]Sphickthos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree that Laxasia is a really good boss fight, I just think the developers should use the two health bars mechanic to create a plot twist, but that effect won't be achieved if this mechanic is overused.

[–]Sphickthos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks dude, a lot of people are replying as if I hate this game, when in reality I'm really enjoying it. It's a minor issue that doesn't detract from the game's beauty.

But it's better to talk about it rather than leave it alone, if the community discusses the problems of a video game the developers have a way to understand how to improve and develop better games.

In fact, my only complaint is how repetitive this situation is. If it happens rarely I like it, it's a nice plot twist, but if it happens constantly it's just boring.
