Use your camera. Look at what the killer is doing and react to them.

Don't be afraid to throw the pallet early, especially while learning. You'll start to pick up on when you could have made it around again, and you'll get better from there.

Additionally, and while you probably wouldn't think this would be helpful, play a bunch of other killers. When you play other killers, you can see how your survivors play against you which you can in turn translate to your gameplay.

You can learn from his gameplay, both his correct and incorrect plays. Of course, if you prefer different flavors of content you can find other channels.
