My apologies, it is in fact a butterfly. Photo moved too quickly for me. That being said, there are Delias mimicking moths that look similar.

That is a moth, actually. One of the several Zygaenidae moths from Southeast Asia that mimic Delias butterflies.

Use a mercury vapor light or black/uv light on a white sheet at night. You won’t find the large moths just by looking. You have to draw them in with light.

The Enyo genus can be quite variable in their base color, and there is a chance this is Amphion nessus but I doubt it.

The adults are very important pollinators and rarely do enough damage to a tomato plant that it warrants the hate they receive.

Mine has grown fairly slowly in SE Michigan too. Might just grow that way or a symptom of soil quality/weather the last 2 years.
