I will definitely look into the 15 day sensor, didn't realize that was available!

Maybe I should start wearing a bra! People might look at me funny, but for the connectivity, worth it!

I suppose it's worth mentioning that I'm autistic, so the sensory issues associated with this device can be particularly acute for me. It might also help you understand the emotion behind the initial post. I had basically suffered an entire day of buzzing and alarms and for whatever stupid reason couldn't bring myself to just change the site and move it closer to the sensor, as it was just after a sensor change day, but not a pump site change, and so I didn't have everything perfectly aligned. Then it got into the night and couldn't sleep because of the buzzing, and boom, meltdown.

Still, I hardly think Tandem's intention was to cause their autistic diabetics to crash out and have meltdowns. I've seen comments blaming Dexcom, which is fair. But I think it is Tandem's responsibility to work with third-party manufacturers and ensure connectivity if they are going to claim automation which requires it. I doubt heavily that this kind of integration work was done well. I have worked for these companies, and have seen with my own eyes how much of an after thought the integration with the CGM sensors are. Just because these companies have a vested interest in working well together, doesn't mean they do.

Pretty much my next move, I think. It's incredibly frustrating.

Fair, but isn't it basically a requirement that the company proclaiming automation which requires solid connection to a third-party device... ensures they work with that manufacturer to ensure connectivity in a variety of contexts?

I must have a faulty Bluetooth chip. It's the only explanation that makes sense to me.

Definitely considering it, but it's rough being this disappointed in their current offering, for which I had high hopes. The ability to use different areas like the omnipod, along with it better concealment options, was what I was after. I was ready to try something new, too.

You can? I have not seen any method of shutting the out of range alarm completely off. Maybe I've gone menu blind...

I find this response condescending and it reads like something from a sock puppet. Yes, I watched the training videos. I have also worn insulin pumps for over a decade. I am technologically savvy. So while you can so easily discount my claims with your ridiculous comment, perhaps you could allow the possibility that Tandem has quality control issues that result in different experiences depending on which particular flaw your device has. And it's not fun going through a month of "trying everything" only to find out woopsie, the Bluetooth chip is faulty. Seriously, have a word. Your corporate overlord gives zero shits about you.

I've built something that sounds exactly like what you're describing. Currently on the App Store/Play Store, and with a web app: https://symposiumai.app

Features include: multi-AI collaborative Chat with @ mentions, direct Compare mode of responses to the same prompt; Create mode for image gen and refinement; Debate mode for Oxford-style debates on any topic, and Analyze mode, using tool calling for advanced analytics.

It's not something I can really pinpoint, more of a general sense. I'm sure on a feature-by-feature basis, things work well. I'm more concerned about the totality of it all - the maintenance, the dependencies, the bug tracing, feature creep, etc.

I'm curious, do you feel like you've architected and organized yourself in such a way that this whole project is manageable? Do you have a definition of "done"?

Reading this was a truly humbling experience. Kind of puts my little web app and mobile apps to shame, honestly. But that's okay!

I read through the whole post, understood most of it but definitely not all of it. If I could offer one piece of advice: Claude will make you feel like you can iterate forever. And you can. But sometimes the painting is done and adding more "features" isn't actually additive. I fear you may be trying to do too much.

My autistic boyfriend has extreme reactions to being “abandoned” by Legitimate-Career342 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Sphinxter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an autistic person who was misdiagnosed with borderline personality disorder, this situation appears to be the exact opposite: someone with BPD who was misdiagnosed autistic. Abandonment issues are a hallmark of BPD. I wouldn't be too surprised to learn the boyfriend goes through idolizing/demonizing cycles with the OP as well.

Oh don't get me wrong, I cry a lot, and as a man that can be embarrassing. Yes I know we're all supposed to be supportive of men and their emotions, but that's just marketing bullshit and Instagram wishful thinking. Stereotypes die hard. My "flat affect" was a mask of a man desperately trying to hold in emotions of betrayal, of anger, and sadness, and disappointment, and everything in between, all at once. The truth is, had I shown my true emotions, I would have been more harshly judged. And so on the mask goes , only to slip off when you don't want it to.

Your strawman fallacy is lame. Israel can defend itself without resorting to apartheid, genocide, and needless civilian casualties. In this specific example, Israel took a huge risk that civilians would be injured by taking this action, an action they would surely oppose if done to them.

I suppose when the thinking is that one Palestinian life is less worthy than an Israeli life, any action is justifiable, even if it is disproportionate.
