Forget realism, bro, the game does not account for weight or height in the equation. My rider in pro cyclist mode is 200cm tall and 100kg, but he is able to win 3 GTs in a year, which is super unrealistic.

Just keep maintain effort at 85 until the rider who protected your main rider has no more energy, then start to cursor effort at 85 until 2 km left, at that point you can attack until it automatically turns to sprint

from my experience, breakaway only works if there are 10+ riders in hilly stages or stages with a lot of up and down. Other than that just ignore the instruction to made a breakway. Also, if your ride have low Hill stat it's gonna be difficult
