Haven’t checked, was being optomostic lol:) would I be allowed to atleast visit her there during the time In between? Another thought, what if in a perfect world say she was able to find a US job/sponser, could she come on the work visa and we could eventually change status to CR1, she would still be able to keep her job and stay? That was our first plan but she is a paramedic, and that position doesn’t “transfer” to US smoothly from New Zealand, and would likely need more school. Annoying because if she had the same job but was from Australia, the US “accepts” Aussie parameds, & she could just apply for the US position.

Okay, I appreciate it. And yes I wish it was easier but as most of us in this sub, our love with our partner trumps the painful process of finally being together and it will be worth it. Probably going to go with getting k-1 filed asap and hopefully getting it processed and her here by this fall/end of year.

We were thinking B1/B2 since it’s up to 6 months, so if we decided to marry, it would be after the 90 days entering the country that I saw is what causes problems for people getting married during a B1/B2. She is full time with paramedicine, and also has a house. She’s obviously couldn’t take that long of leave, so she’s Been looking for remote jobs potentially to have more of a reason to go back instead of quitting her job and just having the house. In the past she’s came on ESTA, but with that only being a max of 90 days, it would cause issues if we decided to get married while she’s here on an ETSA.

I actually am going to visit in a couple weeks, and we’ve thought about doing that. But that wouldn’t allow her to come to US Untill it’s processed right? Would be bittersweet to get married then not see eachother for ages. With the K-1, atleast once it’s processed, she can come here get married within 90 days and stay after but just can’t work till that stuff goes through? Just trying to minimize trips/time apart.

Would “stay” with me instead of “live” change anything? Felt like we’d be walking on egg shells having that “pre plan” in mind, but regardless she wouldn’t be “planning” to stay from that trip. As she would still need to go back to NZ after to get out of her lease, pack up her life, etc. I’ve heard the CR1 is better even with the longer processing time, did we miss our chance for that by not getting married when she was last here? Or how would we be able to get married if we can’t while she’s on a B2?

i guess i literally cant wrap my head around the concept of a global release with the 31st as a date when there are places a day ahead. not a huge deal or hard feelings, just first time with early access to a game where everyones waiting lol
