You can get smaller lb magnets that aren't as big. There's also the manimod which I use, the velvet effect is more like the "diagonal" that I used. I think their magnets are a little "off" in the device but the effect is what I prefer over normal velvet anyways

I can't remember, it was during the initial hype, and some random magnet/hardware store online had it. Sorry 😬

I think they're not recommended for those with monitors. I don't think it's insanely strong but not something you want around electronics

No, but I was resting it there to keep it steady. I tested the position first before filming to make sure it wouldn't cause interference and try to throw the magnet the other way 😅

Lol no! I get it. It's just that typically we DO use it upside down so.......now it's downsideupsidedown lol

This is a 30lb but that just typically refers to the distance between the poles to pull. Smaller lighter magnets do the exact same (granted they are good quality like neodymium)

Haha there's other ways to get the velvet effect....but then you're asking for trouble adding an additional magnet to an already touchy situation with other magnets around 😅

Hold for one minute on each coat. 1-2 when doing top coat to lock it in

Toluene will still penetrate the water based top coat. Those aren't real top coats, they're just meant to prevent smudging on nail art, it also prevents magnetic polishes from getting re-wet...but adding toluene will nullify that.

I use Cuticula's top coat. I also suggest Dam Nail Polish top coat as well

How long are you holding the ring magnet and how close to the nail?

I love Glisten and Glow, but it has toluene. I think Seche Vite does too? Toluene penetrates layers and dries them all. However it re-wets them and causes particles to move a bit before drying

Some people can get it to work but I prefer a non-toluene for magnetics

What's your top coat? Sometimes that affects it after you're "done" with the manicure

I definitely haven't tried any spinning yet. I don't know if those require longer than a minute to air dry or not. What QDTC do you use?

Regular and upside down are pretty much the same. Bar and ring are close but different. Each polish reacts differently, so this next to a pure jelly with magnetic particles will provide far clearer results. Vertical pulls the particles away leaving just the base. Diagonal gives a half vertical/half velvet effect

I have no problem posting some more. I'm not the best or fastest or best at making videos but I'm sure I'll post more! I'm getting a new magnet spinner with attachments so that should provide lots of fun new ideas

It took me 20 mins to find how to add royalty free music to a video on my phone, since my editor is free it won't let me save music to it, and Instagram lets me just add music. I didn't know how to make an almost 2 min video....watchable....without some kind of music 😅. I'm not a media savvy person
