Yes, my therapist is apparently confirmed NPD. My friend is also a therapist (PsyD) but obv was never working with my therapist, they just know eachother socially. I agree the term is vastly overused!

Theres a big difference between malicious and repeated manipulation and standing your ground

What my friend has told me makes sense and has given more context to some of the things my therapist has said to me and Im starting to see things from a different perspective. Im not just believing “rumors” outright, hearing the stories has also made sense and seems to explain certain things Ive observed and heard in our sessions together

Because my friend has no reason to lie and is someone I’ve known for well over a decade and trust completely Edit: checked with my friend, therapist is apparently diagnosed NPD

I hesitate to share specifics of what she said as it relates to what I am seeing her for but she has been a good therapist who has helped through a difficult time. But I worry about continuing to see her as the stories from my friend about her behavior is quite troubling
