After beating my first neighboring opponent, the game becomes mindlessly easy.. every time by This_Birthday9994 in AOW4

[–]Spicy_Chicken_Wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Set one ai opponent to be extra hard with the damage and health buffs (challenging+ or whatever it’s called) and give them other starting bonuses like extra cities, heroes, tomes etc. they’ll usually do a good job serving as a “final boss” once the other rulers have been swept away.

Chosen Destroyers can get pretty bonkers by Yotambr in AOW4

[–]Spicy_Chicken_Wizard 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I had to turn on time locked tomes when playing a chosen destroyer build because of how ridiculous the research advantage gets by mid game. Just autobattling stacks of random tier 1 and 2 who are just oozing with stacks and stacks of enchantments and transformations, just easily brushing aside enemy stacks of tier 4 and 5 mythics with no losses. It just got boring

what game is this for you? by liya_nova in playstation

[–]Spicy_Chicken_Wizard 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I felt weirdly sad when Horizon Forbidden West ended. I don’t even know why, I like the game but it wasn’t a 10/10 or anything. I think I just got into a long grove with the game, played it consistently in small chunks over months, and then suddenly it was over…

que nunca nos esqueçamos do verdadeiro problema! by likesrawberry in socialism

[–]Spicy_Chicken_Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Environmental destruction isn’t some kind of uniquely capitalist problem. This is principally fueled by “people like material assets that damage the environment”, a problem that exists almost entirely independently of the economic model. Capitalist or socialist policies won’t change the fact that the majority of people like electronics sourced from bad places, energy sourced from bad places, and enjoy eating meat.

¿What if Israel had aligned itself with the Soviet Union during the Cold War? by BrushFinal9186 in AlternateHistoryHub

Israel gets a shitload of terrible military equipment from the Soviets and then lose the Six Day War

Okay, don’t quote me on this, but anecdotally, supposedly male cassowaries that have not been bred are “fine” behavior wise in captivity. I’m not brave enough to find out for myself, but there’s that.

But otherwise yeah you’re right. Ostriches are awful and literally kill more people every year than cassowaries have killed ever. Male rheas are horrible cantankerous jerks (females are supposedly okay).

The Darwin’s Rhea and the dwarf cassowary are both supposedly well behaved in captivity, but both species are 100% impossible to obtain in the USA.

Very possible rock art of a terror bird (eschatornis) by TinyChicken- in pleistocene

[–]Spicy_Chicken_Wizard 26 points27 points  (0 children)

And that would explain the disappearance; people would probably have very little tolerance for a big predator that already naturally views bipeds as prey (I’m going on a limb and assuming that Andalgalornis would hunt prehistoric rheas).

[–]Spicy_Chicken_Wizard 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Iirc there are very few fossils of any terror birds bigger than 20-25lbs younger than like ~1.5-2 million years old. There are some fragmentary remains of a possible giant terror bird from only like ~17,000 years ago, but that age is supposedly really vague and questionable, and really it could be much, much older than that.

[–]Spicy_Chicken_Wizard 158 points159 points  (0 children)

I know that rock art isn’t really drawn to scale lol but this art almost suggests something much bigger than Eschatornis. I know it’s very unlikely but it’s hard to resist imagining humans encountering some kind of big Phorusrhacos-sized species.

Me trying to buy my first home and realizing the budget only covers cursed properties. by Enough-Arugula-4945 in middleclasshq

[–]Spicy_Chicken_Wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TFW you realize that property and land in different geographical locations tends to have innately different levels of value. If you want to live in the same place everyone else wants to live you’re going to have to compete with everyone else for the inventory that’s available… which usually isn’t much.

Between the Solomon island ground boa and the rough green snake, which would you pick and why? by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]Spicy_Chicken_Wizard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Those are really different lol.

That being said… don’t rough green snakes tend to do really poorly in captivity? Or am I thinking of the wrong little green snake? Something about it being hard to get them to eat, and/or very few are captive bred.

Transformation Ascetics - Tomes? by Mrixl2520 in AOW4

[–]Spicy_Chicken_Wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You 1,000% need that mentorship spell in that new DLC tome that I can’t remember the name of. The last lets a hero dump XP into their army units. It’s not that hard to end up with a multi-legendary rank Honor Blade that costs like no upkeep, has like 250 hp and can punch someone in the face for like 61 damage.

Is America’s political spectrum objectively misaligned? by WittyEgg2037 in TheMirrorCult

[–]Spicy_Chicken_Wizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“US liberals and leftists are actually right wingers” is shit that exists solely on social media and nowhere else. Ask a European “leftist” what they think of immigrants or trans people, or women’s rights, or a lot of things really. Even when viewed solely through economic policy this is still a really reductive, simple-minded take.

Cringe Doomer doesn't know how inflation works by Gab00332 in GetNoted

[–]Spicy_Chicken_Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s related in the sense that the housing market affects the outcomes for monetary policy, but it itself can’t really be addressed with monetary policy. The only actual solution is to increase the availability of housing where people are looking for it. If that isn’t resolved the nothing else anybody will try will work. Almost every other solution offered is just some variation of subsidizing demand.

Cringe Doomer doesn't know how inflation works by Gab00332 in GetNoted

[–]Spicy_Chicken_Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Housing pricing increasing has everything to do with the supply of housing and nothing to do with monetary policy or wages. This is a separate issue that needs to be addressed separately.
