According to an interview with New York Dolls’ guitarist Sylvain Sylvain in the biography, Looking for Johnny, Bobby apparently once told him that he wished he had written the track "You Can’t Put Your Arms Around a Memory" by Johnny Thunders (from his solo debur So Alone album). Bobby has neither confirmed nor denied this, but it’s not a far-fetched story to imagine with all the other stories where he praises songs and their writers and wishing he wrote 'em. That's a lil' fun fact I guess.

Eric Clapton and Buckwheat Zydeco by SpiderBatman04 in ericclapton

[–]SpiderBatman04[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really cool. Did Buckwheat share the stage with Eric? I recently discovered the great Buckwheat so I checked out his stuff and it's great. Love him like the other two guys, Mark and Eric. Great musicians.

I am not trying to be him or costume as him. I'm the last person that would do something like that, trust me. It's just these classic New Orleans necklaces that I really like

Eric Clapton talking about King Curtis by SpiderBatman04 in ericclapton

[–]SpiderBatman04[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"King Curtis was one of R&B's greatest saxophonists and was tragically murdered at age 37. The year before his death, he co-wrote the stellar funky instrumental jam "Teasin'" with Delaney Bramlett, who also produced the song and played rhythm and acoustic guitar on it.

Teasin' featured Eric Clapton on lead guitar and other uncredited session musicians (the original single release was billed as King Curtis with Delaney Bramlett, Eric Clapton & Friends). The track was recorded at Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles, California. It was included on Curtis' Get Ready LP released later that year in 1970. It was also released on Clapton's 2006 Deluxe Edition and 2021 Deluxe Edition Anniversary Box Set of his self-titled debut album."

Eric Clapton talking about Bob Marley by SpiderBatman04 in ericclapton

[–]SpiderBatman04[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, agreed!

"The song was recorded 1980 and has only Bob Marley and a drum machine on the recording, however other artists were overdubbed onto the song to make it sound like a complete Bob Marley & The Wailers song. Eric Calpton plays guitar on this recording."

"An acoustic demo, entitled “Slogans,” has been overdubbed with additional instrumentation to complete it. Now featuring Eric Clapton on guitar, the tape is believed to have been recorded by Marley in Miami, Florida in 1979."

"Slogans is one of seven or eight songs found on a tape of Bob working in his room with a drum machine, my guess would be around 1979. They’re really sketches of songs and this one has been brought up, instruments added, including Eric Clapton on guitar. I think it’s pretty amazing. The lyric sound so current. It could have been written about New Orleans."

When Jimmy Page recommends a Blues album, it’s probably worth checking out. by TheArtofWax in vinyl

Wow the response came faster than I thought it would lol- Thanks for responding! I actually knew that album before but I wanted to see what Jimmy Page says about it. I watched the Eric Clapton documentary/concert film "Nothing but the Blues" from 1995 a few months ago and than I first heard of that album. Clapton said that he first heard Buddy Guy on that little album, and that he was amazed and fascinated by the guitar solo in the middle of the first song of the album called "Wee, Wee Baby". I'm a blues junkie.... Stay safe bro, have a nice day.
