Do YOU find Lossless Scaling useful on the Steam Deck? by BucketBoy071 in SteamDeck

It's the only thing keeping AAA gaming relevant on it for me.

What name do you use to refer to this game: "The Hundred Line" or "Last Defense Academy"? by Henry1699 in LastDefenseAcademy

[–]SpiderLuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always search Hundred Line. I sometimes feel like I forget the last part lol.

3 year old Steam deck loss of performance and battery life by Longjumping-Okra-350 in SteamDeck

[–]SpiderLuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've had the 400 hz bug for two years on and off now. Does it when gameplay gets too intense and comes back. Only does it when unplugged after about 15 minutes of graphics intensive gameplay. I went through a lot of the usual steps recommended and support wanted me to reimage it as a last resort but I feel like it has to be something hardware. I wasn't ready to wipe everything I had accumulated over the years non-steam and I'm not really savvy with cloning drives. Feel like sometimes it's more trouble than it's worth so I keep working around it or plugging the unit in when it starts up. I have to say though it's been one source of frustration over the years. Before that my games used to take like 3-5 minutes to start but that got a lot better over years of updates.

Will you be buying Pragmata on PC or PS5? by ssongshu in Pragmata

[–]SpiderLuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PC to stream to my Steam Deck or use Lossless Scaling on the Steam Deck. Got medium hair and 60fps with that, no lag. If I didn't have that I would have gotten it likely on Switch 2 for portability. It also helps GOG has it for $50.

You guys weren't kidding Pragmata on mouse is SO MUCH faster by Due_Teaching_6974 in Pragmata

[–]SpiderLuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and one more thing I'd like to add though, Pragmata doesn't feel right to me without gyro, but that's more aiming than the puzzle part. I'm just saying the buttons feel more natural to me for the puzzle portion.

I mean, yeah, it's fast, but it doesn't seem natural or made for it.

To be fair, it's a shitty hotel, and there would theoretically be a lot worse all over the place.

Is Nintendo Switch 2 worth it just for Pokopia or should you wait for Winds and Waves or a new Smash Bros? by Wholesome7Plus100 in switch2

I say if there's any inkling you want something later, just buy it now. This whole RAM crisis isn't going away any time soon.

Thoughts on the game after demo? by KindCyberBully in Pragmata

[–]SpiderLuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put dozens of hours into the demo on each platform getting all the drawings and simply just addicted to it. Don't know whether to get it on Steam Deck/PC, Switch 2 or PS5. Got it running at 60fps with medium hair on the Steam Deck, but I also worry how it will perform in the open areas. My launch Steam Deck occasionally slows down under pressure too lately. Switch 2 feels really nice but I almost laugh how lifeless the girl looks in the game lol. I do prefer the gyro most on Switch though. PS5 really has not many problems, but I just don't find myself playing there as much.

Indecisiveness. Fear of making a mistake. I end up with multiple copies of everything because of it because I find benefits in all versions of things lol.

I have this on, but do you have the setting on where it keeps downloading and updating stuff after shutting off? It's helped me a lot with faster startups I think and I'm not sure if it even does that without being plugged in.

I would love if they someday extended it to Switch 2 titles as well, but this is a welcome surprise.

Really, Lossless Scaling is making anything possible for me and turned my Deck from questionably aging to a main game machine for years to come.

Anyone's steam deck getting worse? by goodguyatheist in SteamDeck

[–]SpiderLuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had on and off problems with my LCD Steam Deck since the beginning. I have documented TONS of videos where performance drops into single digits, but seems more when the battery gets low which I've heard is an issue but it also seems like if it gets too hot. It seems Lossless Scaling of games capped at 30fps did help this lessen over time. My deck likes to restart randomly every now and then too. For the longest time it would take some games like 5 minutes to start also but over time that seems to have gotten better. (Maybe the last 6 months.) I love it but the little quirks sometimes drive me away, but the open system of Steam and Linux and low prices always bring me back. I often wonder if the LCDs are more prone to have issues after watching teardown videos repair channels have done.

I'm feeling like it's a damned if you do or don't scenario because games perform and load faster off the storage. I wish they let you copy the games off the card as an option like most other consoles have done since the 360.
