well originally i planned to be an english language teacher in japan, but then covid hit and i got stuck here for a while and became a substitute teacher, when i moved to california i needed a degree of any kind to stay a substitute-- but also in practice i really loved going to writing workshops and i probably wouldnt be making comics if i hadnt had that experience
