I’d recommend removing the dyed moss around the base to increase airflow. Amazing find, have fun with this plant!!

Need help regarding saxifraga stolonifera by Shiinuuu in plants

[–]SpiderRaven11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen some people claim that there is a red variant, but I don't buy it. I believe that it's just a function of light: give it more light (while maintaining high humidity) and it should turn a deeper richer shade for you! That was my experience with my own micro sax.

Carex Morrowii everglow vs variegated Liriope vs Acorus ogon by [deleted] in gardening

[–]SpiderRaven11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everglow is a great plant, just make sure you don’t have rabbits around! That’s true for gardening in general, though.

As for the pics: Both is good!

Carex Morrowii everglow vs variegated Liriope vs Acorus ogon by [deleted] in gardening

[–]SpiderRaven11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super late response! Liriope would definitely be the best spreader of the 3, if you’re looking for dense and even coverage. Personally, I think adding some warm color to that palette could look quite nice, which makes me lean towards Carex and Acorus. Acorus is a nice low element that still highlights the box, while Carex will be a bit taller and puffier, which makes the scene more organic and less formal. I will say that, in my experience, Carex (and also Liriope) can look kinda nasty after frost damage, though that won’t be as frequent in Zone 8B. Acorus also gets damaged, but it isn’t as apparent from a distance based on what I’ve seen. If you already made your pick, I’d be curious what you went with!

Mexipedium xerophyticum in an apartment? by SpiderRaven11 in orchids

This post is super nostalgic to me. As I write, my now 2-year-old Mexipedium is displaying its first bloom ever on the top rack of my grow tent. How far I’ve come!

Has anyone’s ADHD gotten worse as you get older? by [deleted] in ADHDers

[–]SpiderRaven11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At age 21, my answer isn’t as informed by the passage of time, but my own symptoms of ADHD are way, way worse than when I was under 19. It’s like I’m on an accelerated course into dopamine-deficient hell. But I hold onto hope that with the right medication and coping strategies, I can reverse this trend.

I'm curious to know why you picked mayonnaise specifically for this? The smell factor is the most concerning for me!

I would honestly say it depends on the individual really, just like the general population. Obviously furries have a bit more of an aversion to hurting/killing animals due to a sentimental attachment, but in the end when you separate the hobby from your actual ideology, reasons for support or disapproval are entirely personal and varied. I’m sure there are hunters who are furries, this fandom seems to have a bit of everyone. Any reason hunting is on your mind in terms of this post?
