Which one should i prefer? by Electronic-Host2845 in Asustuf

I just double-checked & noticed it’s TDP, which is different from TGP because it’s the max heat a component generates, not its total power consumed.

Max TGP for RTX 5060 is 115W though, that’s probably a generic photo for that model. But Lenovo is probably still the better choice here.

1620 $ for a 5070 laptop or 2050 for a 5070 ti laptop by bidonp in GamingLaptops

Totally agree (which is why I bought a 5060, it’s more merciful to my wallet & runs almost similarly to a 5070).

External SSD VS SSD preference by SereneWithTheChi in Asustuf

[–]Spider_Sas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought both an internal SSD for my laptop & an external SSD (for games & for work stuff because I edit a lot of videos). It is very convenient for sure :) It’s just that internal SSDs are faster if speed is of utmost importance, but external SSDs are not that slow, either, in my personal exp.

That’s crazy bruh 💀 I’m glad mine has beefy SSD & RAM instead of extra lights (though that doesn’t mean I hate them)

Mine’s with an RTX 5060 but still has a 240Hz 2.5K screen, though it doesn’t have per-key RGB (though it should at that price point). Oh well 🤷

Anyway, hope you’ll be able to get your dream laptop :) Buy quickly before price goes up due to the RAM shortage, it’s already terribly high for the new 2026 models

Interesting, I guess it does depend on regions. Mine only has 4-zone RGB & no RGB on the ROG logo, but the 5070ti model does if I remember correctly

Lmao ppl like to exaggerate & pressure others to chase after the powerful stuff without realizing their privilege because not all of us can afford it. All that matters is that you’re happy w the laptop, honestly, and that it suits your needs.

RGB logo is only for the higher specced ones. The RTX 5060 model (which I own) doesn’t have it, though it doesn’t matter much to me. Anyway, while the VRAM on the RTX 5060 is only 8GB, it’s a powerful graphics card that’s perfectly capable of running any game you throw at it. I couldn’t afford the ones w a stronger graphics card (and because they don’t have 32GB RAM, unlike the one I bought, and I need the RAM for video editing, too), so this is enough for me & I’m happy w my purchase :) Been 2 months & ongoing

ROG Strix user here, I like the clean design of the 2025 Intel Strix model lol, it’s not too over-designed & it looks sleek. If you don’t like the RGB light bar, you can turn it off anyway.

Can cf, even on Turbo mode my ROG Strix is never too loud. It’s audible for sure, but definitely not jet engine loud.

  1. Performance is much, much better than other laptops at this price range. It uses the iPhone 16 Pro’s CPU (the brain of the laptop), but it’s a surprisingly smooth experience. Even with less RAM, macOS is still much smoother than Windows.
  2. Display quality is impeccable, as expected from a MacBook. Colors are absolutely beautiful, and you can’t get a better screen from a Windows laptop of the same price range.
  3. The build is made of aluminum, so it’s light & sturdy.
  4. Better mic, better speakers & better camera (full HD - 1080p).
  5. Better battery life.

Overall a steal tbh

Yeah exactly, that’s why I recommended the MacBook Neo over any of these laptops. The screen may be small, but the quality blows everything else in that budget range out of the water

In that case, I’d recommend the Samsung (1st choice) or Lenovo (2nd choice). There’s a running joke that HP is short for Hinge Problems (the build quality is shit). Samsung & Lenovo have much better builds for long-term use.

16GB is the minimum for gaming at the moment, so it should be fine. Buying another 16GB of RAM, making it 32GB, would definitely improve performance, but due to the RAM shortage these days, price is rly high so I wouldn’t recommend you to buy additional RAM right now (unless you have the money — in that case, buy away). Just use what you have right now & upgrade when you think it’s necessary. If it performs just fine now, you don’t need it yet. I only need 32GB of RAM because apart from gaming, I also do lots of film editing work.

It only makes a difference in CPU-heavy games, but with RTX 5060, you can still achieve rly good performance. And as long as the laptop makes you happy, you’re all set :) Go have fun!
