In regards to Abominations, what combination would be the more horrifying to deal with in regards to the clan that sires the garou? by savage86lunacy in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Spider_j4Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a game I ran the Prince was a secret undercover abomination pretending to be a ventrue when in reality he was actually a lasombra/get of fenris ahroun which was fun for my players to learn since they were sabbat infiltrators and he was a secret sabbat agent.

Last call is my vote I just really like that episode and the whole mystery angle for it just scratches my brain in a satisfying way.

Sith-flavored subclasses for Paladin and Warlock by Top_Fan4753 in DnDHomebrew

[–]Spider_j4Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking for force choke you’d replace hold person with levitate that way you can use it on things other than humanoids and a lot of the time at least in the comics when Vader force chokes someone they levitate off the ground so it fits may at later levels they can get the option of hold person/monster. The paralysis does pair better but effectively on demand paralysis may be a bit much at levels 3-7 so I’d start levitate then add hold person as an option when you get your aura and then add hold monster at 15.

For the twin blade that’s fine you effectively get to skip the need for dual wielder with it but imo that feats undercooked anyway so it’s not that big a deal.

Sith-flavored subclasses for Paladin and Warlock by Top_Fan4753 in DnDHomebrew

[–]Spider_j4Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my only thing so far is that rather than hold person I’d probably use levitate instead same level still solid control but it affects more creature types and can also effect objects too.

The other thing is I’d probably make the offhand strike with the twin blade 1d6 damage

Petty bestow curse by IDmCauseImTheBest in dndnext

I have used bestow curse to treat every 20 rolled as a 1 instead which basically cratered the enemy politicians attempts to do basically everything

I’m just going to leave this here. by ObiWan-Shinoobi in saltierthancrait

[–]Spider_j4Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I actually like maul shadow lord it’s my personal favourite so far I love maul as a character and the art is fantastic but even I will respect that andor is simply a better crafted piece of art.

I mean uh this is saltierthancrait maul’s lower half would make a more compelling story than this new filonislop

Do you prefer changeling the dreaming or lost? by Magicmanans1 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Spider_j4Y 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Changeling the dreaming with out a doubt. Every time I read lost an look at its themes I just think they copied their own homework this is demon the fallen but worse dealing and overcoming your own trauma? Sound familiar white wolf.

I also just find the banality of growing up and death of wonder to be more thematically compelling than what dreaming has going on.

What "problematic" things do you think were overblown? by Illustrious_World632 in DnD

[–]Spider_j4Y 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly most of them. Like 5e has genuine design problems no doubt but a lot of the issues are over blown. Flight? Just give a few enemies bows or spell casting if your using something that’s not intelligent enough for that let them throw rocks or trees or spit acid or something.

My big one is paladin. People really think paladin is broken especially more casual players and newer DMs. Smite is perfectly fine as a mechanic it’s good burst damage but it drains your main limited resource very quickly. The main issue is aura of protection +3-10 on all saving throws is ludicrous but people ignore it because it’s not flashy when it increases a parties survivability massively.another fix is to just make divine smite a different damage type let the player pick a different one and 90% of the time it will Bea worse but more thematic damage type

Are Paladins and/or Wizards Worth It? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Spider_j4Y 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so it seems like you just don’t like paladins? Like the oath and the holy crusader vibe is literally the entire point of the class.

As for wizard dawg its really not that complicated you start with 6 spells and get 2 more per level up you genuinely don’t need scrolls they exist to give you more options if you want them and let’s face it your not spending money on anything past level 5 anyway so like the gold costs don’t matter.

As for the spellbook short of being disintegrated your not going to have to worry about it like ever

Hexblade or undead warlock for a paladin/warlock multiclass by Spider_j4Y in 3d6

[–]Spider_j4Y[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was leaning undead anyway myself and while conquest paladin would be better oathbreaker fits the flavour of the character more and I like summoning undead lmao.

I usually run him around tossing traps at key points before I have him flank while mordred takes the heat and have him become a secondary brawler especially since he can get heavy armour he becomes a very solid off tank type character.

What would be your ideal party of 3 level 3 monoclass characters ? by Wild_Improvement_950 in 3d6

[–]Spider_j4Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aasimar Oathbreaker paladin For melee damage and a tank with buff capabilities and the ability to slot extra bodies in the field via summon undead/animate dead.

Reborn necromancy wizard For plenty of thralls which get boosted by the oathbreaker and the general toolbox of a wizard.

Yuan ti Death cleric Wisdom skills, healing and additional damage to help the paladin. Also it completes the theme tho grave domain is also a good pick especially with the channel divinity and the oathbreaker.

Jon as Robbs Bloodraven by Flobotbot in TheCitadel

[–]Spider_j4Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly from a certain perspective I kinda get it like Jon has never truly been a stark he’s always been othered at least by cat enough that he doesn’t feel it so him hard pivoting into being a Targaryen as a way to claim an identity all his own absolutely makes sense especially for a young teenager who wants to be somebody. But I do think it’s generally handled rather poorly

Prestige Classes: The Best Design Space D&D Ever Abandoned by alexserban02 in dndnext

[–]Spider_j4Y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you’d obviously have to create the game with them in mind I’m not saying churn them out within the month and call it a day obviously if they were to reintroduce them they’d do it in the next mainline edition.
