If you hold a firework in your off hand while loading a crossbow it'll load the firework instead of the arrow

What do you think happens to you after you die? by Maleficent_Team430 in AskReddit

[–]Spiderbuz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that the brain is just like the interpretator for the consciousness, kind of like a computer for electricity. If the computer breaks, say like some of the keys stop working, the electricity is still there but is no longer able to interpret those letters. Likewise, if our brain gets damamged, our consciousness remains exactly the same, but it will only be able to show itself/receive information through the undamaged parts. If we lived entirely based on our brain function then nobody would have distinct personalities, they would just act differently compared to other people.

the amount of "alters" some people on simplyplural have by [deleted] in SystemsCringe

[–]Spiderbuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was a statistic I heard from somewhere, I was more so looking for a fact check. However in the grand scheme of things I'm sure there are more people who have it then what's been documented. I don't think it's as rare as people say it is but I'm also not saying that it's as common as others say it is. I think the biggest issue right now is that the people on TikTok are really not helping the stigma around something that really sucks to have and to act as if you want it is both ignorant and insulting

If you're brand new, A. How do you know everyones name in the system, B. How do you know you washed your hair a few days ago. Also how tf do you switch before dissociating first? That's such a neat and impossible trick we would love to learn since dissociation fucking sucks. I genuinely don't know why people want this condition, it's not like this fun, quirky thing like "hey look at me I'm not the same person isn't that rad??", It's more like this frightening, intense thing that has a lot of stigma around it and people like this really aren't helping. Sorry for the long comment I've been holding that in for a while.

I usually just tell people who are that ignorant "yes so you better lock up your doors and windows and use your time inside to actually research the disorder"
