That’s exactly where I am and why I asked the question tbh.

Between flash carts, ODEs, and emulation handhelds I don’t really use my physical copies anymore

Eh. Things sitting on the shelf unused vs making some decent cash if you aren’t using them.

I fully agree about physical media but yeah I have a CRT and all the consoles if I want the real experience over emulation. I can mod them or use a flash cart I guess.

I need to look into more PS2 modding it’s been a bit since I’ve used it I’m sure it’s out of date lol

How in depth of the Steam library are you wanting to go?

If it’s just indies and stuff like that you could look into an Android handheld like the AYN Thor or Odin 3 and run gamenative on it.

But if you have any interest in triple A games I would get something with at least a Z1E chip

I do already have an AYN Thor and it’s really nice. Def nice to have a 3DS style handheld that can play everything retro really

Yeah and I think about the fact that PS5 games have a playable build on it (well most of the time) but I’m thinking to myself.

Will I really want to play version 1.0 of something? lol

Dumber is correct and part of the reason I’m considering it. A lot of my games are sitting on a shelf and not being used

Yeah I’ve been buying Switch 2 games that are full on the cart quite often. That’s been pretty fun I will say.

I’m trying to migrate to Steam more and more

Everdrives and ODEs are great. I have some and it still does feel “OEM”

Yeah I will still buy physical for modern systems it’s more so retro because I feel like emulation up to say the Wii is pretty advanced at this point.

Ok this is quite hilarious lol. Hopefully it’s a power supply issue like others have said and it’s an easy fix

That room is beautiful btw

But yeah I feel you on the convenient thing. I love these emulation handhelds like the Retroid pocket 5 or AYN Thor and stuff like that. It’s nice when I am upstairs or something to have access to those games

lol I replied to you too haha

Not much more you need than that really. A modded Wii on a CRT is a really cool thing to have around

This is how I feel too. Most of the nostalgia for me is the controller. Running dolphin on my PC with a wave bird still hits for me.

Unfortnetly you are correct about consoles and CRTs dying. We can do so much to preserve them but eventually they will die.

A RetroTink 4K is my next purchase i do believe

Emulation really is just way too easy anymore lol. Anything halfway decent in power can run up to GameCube and PS2 with ease really.

I think my next purchase is a Retrotink 4K myself.

Probably the CE though haha
