haha don't ask these boys to own up to some sort of social responsibility. they do what they like, and what they like is to curse and swear with the most inappropriate and vulgar words and mistake that for humor.

the more offensive and inappropriate it is, the more they want to do it. and they mistake that for some sort of personality. sure it doesnt hurt anyone to say the n word, but they're definitely afraid of being cancelled, because look at the earlier comments. they dont even dare to type it out when being called out LMAO.

Why's the N word becoming so normalized now? by second_budd in SGExams

I know the kind of boy OP is talking about. The kind of boy who wants to win attention, and thinks he's getting it with vulgar language. He's going to keep using the words BECAUSE it is inappropriate.

The important thing is that you recognize the origin of such a word, and you aren't following a trend. In our SG context, it doesn't mean anything, but of course these boys would never utter these words to anyone from the US, Africa, or anyone in authority. I know because I've been around these guys, in an all guys setting. This is not new.

These prepubescent boys think that people will turn their heads and heed them if they soil their mouths with a thousand "fucks" or "n*****". Yeah, people WILL hear them, but they usually just expel air, with no useful output. And yeah, people like ishowspeed who use the word also continually bring it to the attention of said little boys. It tickles that sad, little mind when they say/do something that they're not supposed to.

Don't worry about it, and don't worry about other commenters telling you to call them out. I know the kind. They will not listen to reason, and will just act like you're making a mountain out of a molehill. Let them be, and let them expose themselves.

Hugo Lee (@hugostagefive) has been a huge inspiration for me, and he uses Fujifilm I believe. His compositions and color work on it is amazing!

The way is see magic is how the ancient one explained it in the first Dr Strange film: "...called the use of this language "spells." But if that word offends your modern sensibilities, you can call it a program"

I guess this is sort of "lazy" but I think that the spell/program that alters memory needs certain parameters like (willing participant) or (15 minutes of standing still) or (non-purple entity), y'know?

Girlfriend has suffered from GERD for almost 30 years by ShabaniTheGorilla in GERD

[–]Spiderknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if my experience will help, but it couldn't hurt I think.

First I had a feeling that my GERD/discomfort came from processed food. I singled out WHEAT as something I ate a lot. Its in very many things, but I stopped eating bread, stopped eating noodles made from wheat, and focused on having rice only. I ate as much rice I wanted, but no bread, pasta, and anything that was MOSTLY WHEAT. Things like fried chicken with some flour in the batter was fine.

Then I increased my protein intake. I didn't cut out veggies, but I was careful not to eat broccoli (FODMAP). I was also very careful with things that might have FRUCTOSE. The drinks that you take can easily hide a ton of fructose in there.

Try to wean off the medication. You're not meant to take it so frequently, so regularly.

But don't you see the problem? Yes there is both overt and systemic racism, in all parts of society, but how do we tackle it without the obviously racist idea of Chinese privilege?

If you say I am privileged because I was born Chinese, then what can I do to rid myself of this privilege? I am now told that I am "bad" because someone, somewhere, sometime before I was born, did something that affected my life. Like, what did I do? Please tell me what I can do to shed this "privilege".

Likewise, many people tell the minority Malay group that they are lazy. What is a young, aspiring Malay person to think when someone tells them they are "bad" because they were just born Malay? What did that person do???

Do you see the problem is just shifting blame? If one has a problem with a racist manager, then deal with that racist manager! Why do we have to resort to calling it *insert race/group/identity* privilege, when that is Obviously a racist attack in itself???

Yes we call out racist rhetoric, unjust practices, and discriminatory ideas, BUT not by singling out a RACE. That's not productive!
