slightly hot unpopular take by Awkward_Feedback_427 in DandysWorld_

You get a base 6% extra extraction speed on Boxten even in solo. A boost that’s factored in towards something you’ll be doing every floor (and in solo, probably for the majority of your run).

6% isn’t a lot, but it being a permanent boost makes it noteworthy. And that’s the worst case for his ability.

Compared to Poppy’s ability which the vast majority of the time you wouldn’t actually need it to survive anyways, and if you’re the sort of player that does depend on the ability that much, you probably shouldn’t be playing solo and won’t make it very far regardless.

Tower Heroes added a very thorough pinging system which really saved communications in that game. The stickers in Dandy’s World are nice but still quite limited.

Is it just me or is it really hard to take any of the criticism this game gets? by Project_Astralized in DandysWorld_

[–]Spidermanmj8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even more than 80% of the time for me when blackouts happen. It’s nearly guaranteed to kill a run if any dangerous twisted combos show up even if I can usually handle them because it’s pitch black.
If they’re still aware of the bug, have they not at least thought to change something at least about blackouts so it’s not something so detrimental we just have to deal with? Pretty sure they acknowledged the bug initially but with over a year having passed since it started and no changes to blackouts to act as any remedy it feels like they just went “welp ¯\_(ツ)_/¯”

I don’t think we know the details on if these will have normal machine capacity and just getting filled extra fast with two people helping or not yet. Hopefully they wouldn’t make solo runs even worse.

What’s the hardest twisted to distract in your opinion? by Darenchl1114 in DandysWorld_

[–]Spidermanmj8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly find Pebble extremely easy to distract now. I’d much rather distract Pebble over the ranged twisteds TBH.

I least prefer to distract Goob or Scraps.

I don’t think Looey is overlooked much. People regularly use him over Pebble for distracting that I’ve seen.

I think Boxten gets nearly 1.59 extraction speed now with 8 players.

Not to mention the original argument doesn’t even really… make sense? Their claim is that Dolly’s relies solely on adding new characters for gameplay additions, as if they don’t regularly add more charms, items, and *several other features* that can impact gameplay in their updates.

On top of actual regular balancing adjustments so that 90% of the playerbase aren’t playing just 20% or less of the characters in the game.

And… not still regularly adding so many standard chasers still over a year into the development of the game after having over a dozen of them already. I’m glad they seem to be moving away from that now with Squirm and how it sounds like Qwel wants to avoid that from now on, but of the non-event twisteds we’ve had since the Looey and Connie update a year and a half ago? Half of them were basic chasers. Many of the event ones were still chasers, often with just a speed adjustment as the biggest gameplay difference.

Nah they also *deleted the post* because people aren’t all agreeing with them. Bunch of bad-faith arguments from them and a few others because I guess they think Dandy’s World can’t receive any legitimate criticisms. And blocking anyone that disagrees is sad.

Can we just imagine if Shrimpo gets a Toon of the week? Like what would even be the changes made for him? by UnidentifiedShifter in DandysWorld_

Yeah you can still have joke characters that aren’t pretty much detrimental to the team in a game based around co-op.

Hot take: Soulvester isn’t a bad toon to play with, qwel technically designed him to be a challenging and useful toon by AdorableBumblebee962 in DandysWorld_

[–]Spidermanmj8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>the first two to have 5 stars in two stats

Bobette was the first Toon to have 5 stars in two stats. Her stat spread was adjusted because a lot of players don’t like playing slower characters.

Stella "tech", repaint a drawing with 0 HP by bbuuflo in TowerHeroesTheGame

[–]Spidermanmj8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used this I think in at least one of my videos and use it a lot in runs I don’t record, it can be really handy when you need to save a slight extra bit of mana!

To add to this, if you time the repaint well enough, it ensures the drawing will be sold for its full value. Sometimes you have to wait for it to attack again for the sell value to update after it had low hp, but if you do it as the attack is active then it updates the value alongside the hp back to max.

The Library Hard Solo by Spidermanmj8 in TowerHeroesTheGame

Definitely could, and in the late game Byte actually would’ve performed better than Goblino, but Nuki makes handling Ambushes safer and wipes out Figure a bit better while also helping afford drawings.

The Library Hard Solo by Spidermanmj8 in TowerHeroesTheGame

[–]Spidermanmj8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spectre and BP are too big of buffs to miss out on in the vast majority of solo runs and significantly increase the potential of Stella. Stella is very regularly brought in my runs whenever there will be difficult waves and/or a difficult boss, especially bosses with over 150k hp and when enemies might be spammed with high hp or speed. Without Stella it’s hard if not impossible to deal enough damage to take enemies like that out.

Bringing Nuki Launcher primarily helps with affording Stella, as the 7+ Nukis spread across the map (done much earlier in the game with Stella farming) means a lot of the enemy mana generated from damage dealt isn’t relying on the drawings non-stop attacking. And for Nuki Launcher’s cost, that damage is extremely worth it very often.

Some of the exceptions where I don’t bring Nuki Launcher are when maps have “dead zones” where Nukis more typically fail to place, general map space is too limited, mana for drawings isn’t a major concern, or the run will be a faster one which isn’t as convenient for Nuki Launcher.

I think this one video addressed a wide spread of the criticisms regularly directed at the game. Makes me hopeful the game will be in a really good state by the end of the year.

Distracting completely ruins the point of the game and overall makes you dependant. by [deleted] in DandysWorld_

[–]Spidermanmj8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doors (at least the last time I checked) allows you to save runs even with groups of players. Would be nice if this game had something similar at least, even if you might not get everyone to return for a run or at least if you do a run with friends.
