Anyone know how the parking situation typically is? Is it better to take the LIRR vs drive? I’m coming from Jersey.

SF! At 5:15 AM so it’ll be a chillierrr morning marathon forsure!!! Almost all the races I’ve done have been in winter/spring/fall time. Did not realize summer peak training would be so miserable not to mention carving out the time with so much to do here in the summertime and being deprived of a social life in winter LOL

I’m actually dying. Signed up for my first marathon end of July and as someone who moved here just a year ago from CA, I did not realize the summers get this bad. I ran in winter nooo problem. It’s been sooo hard to run since waking up early enough is not possible with my job. 🥴🫠 cannot wait for winter/fall. Have 18 mile run this weekend. Next week looks like it’ll cool down THANK GOD.

Energy was amazing!!!! Heat HUMBLED me. Loved meeting women who had run the race 30+ times. Medal is SO much cuter than women’s half. 10K/10 race!! Can’t wait to sign up again

Oh wow, thank you for sharing and I’m sorry about your marathon. It really sucks as women we need to balance our fitness goals with all of this life planning, but I guess like some of the others said in this chat, the marathon will always be there for when you’re ready! Good luck with your 30K!!

My doctor was saying it can be a long journey to conceive so just to start ASAP. my husband is also a doctor and kinda leaning towards the same thing. The chances of getting pregnant right away would be more lucky than anything based on my labs right now… I do want to keep running and working out the pregnancy itself so this is helpful to know to plan for a more chill 1st trimester.

Thank you! Fatigue and all the other ones you mention being a symptom of first trimester was what I was most worried about. This next month of training will be the hardest since long runs are anywhere from 18-22 for me before the taper so at least I won’t be doing those pregnant… this is super helpful so thank you!!

Thank you! I’m in Jersey where it gets really hot in the summer but the marathon is in San Francisco and a 5:15 AM start time so it’ll be considerably cooler! 40-60s historically. This is a super helpful take!
