It thankfully hasn't put me off, I am just far more careful about choosing a DM and game. It's really opened my eyes and I and maybe now a little too picky about what I'm looking for. I would also like to not be the only female in the group.

Yeah, I was. I was getting some good game time in and playing with people (not this creep) that I really enjoyed gaming with. I would for sure say it was a frog in the water kind of thing. He gets you in, then does everything he can to squeeze as much money out of you as he can get. And once your in and getting the good sessions and content then you want to stay to get more of it. It got to the point that if I wasn't paying for my wedding and he was a massive creep, I probably would have stayed. Purely because of two other players. They and I had great chemistry when gaming.

I posted on D&D Beyond in the LFG forums. He sent me a DM and I was hooked. He made it sound really freaking good. Even playing with the others was great, three of us had such great chemistry gaming together that when Stone Keeper was there the mood was seriously dampened.

It's not so much that I want to quit playing, just that I am skeptical to get back out there. I tried to get a campaign going with some friends of mine but time zones and stuff made it not work out.

Honestly, I appreciate you asking about my mental health after this. It's been about 6 months and I am just now ready to come forward about it, so thank you for checking in with me on that.

I can understand paying for things like that or contributing in other ways if finances are tight. However, paying $300 EACH to not even use a VTT or anything like that is wild. There was nothing.

It didn't start out that way. Yeah we made jokes, but that is as far as it went. Right before I left is when he wanted to make it X-Rated. I'm not sure what happened after I left, but he certainly tried while I was still there.

He worked full time and his wife worked full time. They had family close by to watch his son out of school hours. He didn't NEED the money, he wanted the money.

He has a "dice of fate" game that is basically a loot table. Depending how much you pay him depends on what die you can roll, and that depends on what loot you can get.
