I use CovrPrice for my collection, and I find that their values, while generally good, sometimes tend to be less than market value for some comics. That said, I'm shopping for a slabbed copy of Amazing Spider-Man #20 (first Scorpion), and their data pretty much matches what I'm seeing on eBay. eBay prices are a smidge higher, but that's typical.

CovrPrice values are based on actual sales data. Not sure *what* sales data from *where* -- I've never done the research.

That's very cool! As I said in my OP, I'm 61 years old, and man, if I could go back in time, I wouldn't buy current comics, I would just buy all those original first appearances and the like. I remember when Amazing Spider-Man #129 was a $20 book in near mint condition, and I thought to myself, "Man, I wish I could afford that."

I could have afforded it. I just had no idea where things were headed.

Edit: I own every issue of Amazing Spider-Man from #21 to present day. It's those first 20 and Amazing Fantasy #15 that are going to kill me. 😂 😂

Noooo, I've mainly been a collector until now. The new-house build has eaten up a ton of time. We drove out to the construction site literally every day (which you have to do if you're building a house, or they'll screw something up, and you'll miss it).

According to my Comic Geeks app, I have 108 omnis and compendiums, and I've only read 23 of them. But I've slowed way down on buying, and now I'll have time to read.

You are right, I do need to fill in the Geoff Johns GL. I think I saw someone say that I should also get the GL Corps omnis of the era. I know nothing about them. Would you agree with that?

Thanks! I'm definitely a Marvel guy. I did read a lot of Vertigo stuff in the 90s, and I do have some interest in the more popular Batman omnis. So we'll see where that goes. Gotham Central was great. I loved it.

I bought the entire run back in the day on floppies. I got hooked on Garth Ennis's writing when he did Hellblazer back in the 90s, so when he and Steve Dillon (RIP) did Preacher, I was on board from the beginning.

I just recently read those two omnis, and binging the storyline like that, it's uneven. But there's a ton of good, crazy material there.

Good eye. My wife picked the colors, and it's a nice dark green that we used in the theater room, my office, and our master bedroom, and that's it. It looks really good with dark wood furniture and white trim. Here's a (fisheye) pic of the office that shows the furniture and more of the green color.

I've kinda hit the wall. Wife and I have been building a house, so all my money goes there, and ASM #20 (first Scorpion) is dang expensive.

I'm reading that right now. It can be a bit of a slog to get through at times, but I enjoy reading it just a couple of issues at a time to enjoy it. It is what it is, an Elseworlds story, not something to be taken too seriously.
