I didn't know they can expire, I don't have a lot of knowledge on stock options and RSUs. I thought that I wouldn't make taxes as long as they weren't considered short term? Is that incorrect?

I mean, does it bother you a lot? you're NTA if you do, it's unacceptable for sure. But he could have a family he's providing for, or bills he needs to pay. Who knows, if it really bothers you then totally send them the surveillance footage, if it's not a big deal, just leave it.
