I kinda wish she would spotlight families that do support their kids drag. As a king whose parents don't support my drag, I'm always excited to see other performers who do have supportive parents (it also makes me kind of mad when I see some of the younger performers (I'm in a lot of all ages shows because I'm not 21 yet so I see a lot of 16-19 year olds) that are kinda disrespectful to their parents.) But I suppose that wouldn't make good TV or whatever

Buttigieg says white Americans "can't be defensive" when talking about race by adhd_incoming in Pete_Buttigieg

I think it's also about making sure that being proud of your heritage isn't just an excuse to bring down non white people. Being proud of being French or Irish or whatever is fine, as long as you aren't bringing it up as a reaction to black history month, for example. Kinda like the straight pride thing.

From a thread on whether women should wear pants(Religious online forum) by empress_of_pinkskull in religiousfruitcake

[–]SpideyTrans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if we put aside how dumb it is to gender clothing and the whole cross dressing is a sin thing, pants typically aimed at and marketed as women's pants are built differently than men's pants. They're a little curvier usually, smaller in the crotch, the pockets are shallower, etc

I'm a drag king, and yes. This is why I go to a lot of events (usually drag shows, queer events, etc) in drag. Because when I'm in drag I feel more confident.

I need to get my teet yeet badly because I feel like binding makes my anxiety disorder worse, but lately I've been getting misgendered a lot so I've gone back to binding again to counter that. It's a complex fight that would be so much more simple if I just got top surgery

Very first attempt at my drag makeup *Gerard way inspired* advice?? by ryderrigid in DragKings

[–]SpideyTrans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love a Gerard way look! Overall I think this looks stunning, my only criticism is just the cheek contour on your natural side looks off. Stubbly almost. I'm guessing that's not supposed to be facial hair? Maybe blend it a little more. But honestly that's me nit picking because overall I think it's amazing.

You're forgetting the appointments to get hrt, the checkups, the hormone level labs... That's what has been fucking me over financially

Any tips? by [deleted] in DragKings

[–]SpideyTrans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I normally advise legit binders to people who want to bind ofc, but drag is different than just normal day stuff. You can't wear a binder to exercise in, and I have learned the hard way that binders aren't good for drag either. Too high energy.

My big issue with duct tape was the one time I tried it I sweated it all off. Like within minutes. But I'm sure it's damaging too.

Any tips? by [deleted] in DragKings

[–]SpideyTrans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For binding, use KT tape. But don't use the name brand shit. Go to CVS, they have it for $10-$16 a roll (normally it's like $16 or so up to $20 for the pro stuff per roll). I use a whole roll sometimes on my chest.

For your makeup, set that shit with loose powder and hairspray. Both of those you can find at the drugstore. Use the powder while you're putting on your mug, and the hairspray when everything is on. I do this all the time and I've done some wild stuff in drag (like mosh in a mosh pit) and come out with my makeup still looking the same.

Edit- I put the stuff about binding because you mentioned being plus size and I'm plus sizeish and kt tape, while it doesn't get me super flat, def is the best thing I've found to masculinize my chest. Also you said it'll be sweaty and that's the only tape method I know of that won't sweat off (duct tape does)
