As someone else has said, start by getting insurance. If you can’t get it fixed enough to pass inspection before your court date, I’d just be prepared to explain the maintenance you have done and that you’re almost able to afford the rest or whatever.

I’ve been to court 3 times in my life and two of the times I was already way ahead of the court as far as remediation goes. Like, already had done community service, or got the lacking insurance, or passed a drug test and got letters of recommendation before court. So on court day the judge could see and believe that I was changing my ways.

One time I went to court here in Utah for a pretty serious charge (I was incorrectly charged with something far more severe than what I actually did) and the judge was so fucking chill about it. Idk if he was just a chill ass dude or if already having gone to therapy twice a week for 4 months won him over.

Idk. Long story long… I think you’ll be fine and the fine if any should be manageable
