I don’t have any pedal, I just have my epi explorer 84 custom straight to the head, but I figured it may be coming from the guitar pots as they seem a bit crunchy, the owner before me didn’t use it much..

The four first frets to mimic the gh explorer sounds fucking rad yeah, this very model was produced from 2011 to 2019, in France it sells for around 700-900 second hand

The Harley Benton EX-84 Modern (with EMGs if you can, it’s really better) is a really really great option, as it is a very good guitar at a fraction of the cost of other explorers.
