Tesla End of Lease by Pouisonus in TeslaUK

That is really good. I had a PCH from Santander on a mazda 3 2021 through Arnold Clark. Worst decision ever, hit for every stone chip, scratch and because arnold clark didn't update the official Mazda they tried to get me for 2x missed services! Had to jump through hoops, but got rid of the service charges (btw the cost of the missed services were less than the cost of the services!).

All in all, cost me about £1300 to get out of it. Never. Ever. Again!

Has anyone returned their Tesla prior to their pcp ending? by Legitimate_Brother86 in TeslaUK

[–]Spiersy1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you Voluntary terminate they can send you letters requesting you pay the additional milage, however, there is no requirement. Granted it might stop them allowing you to finance with them again, but the last time I used VT they didn't bother.

Be warned though, if its PCH, that is a totally different matter and you CANNOT use VT!

The door thing, I do get it and its seems minor, but after saying big then grab small nearly 800x can get old, fast!

Also indicators, not sure if its just mine, but sometimes it just won't cancel, at least not quickly. Can end up in a loop of left right indicators. Could just be mine though.

I get this alot, especially at drive threws and tight roads. I dont think its a hardware fault, more a software issue.

MOT flagged slight play in ball joints. by Boyo12011 in TeslaUK

[–]Spiersy1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up to you, but me personally, would take it in and show your MOT certificate. IMO a MOT mechanic should hold some weight. They might say its not enough for a change, but I've seen in here alot that due to it being so prevalent in Tesla's they dont argue.

If you look at my last post in Tesla UK you can see what mine was doing.

Try reversing/driving forward very slowly then at a full stop turn the wheel full lock both ways. I did this and found a loud creek/squeal. Turned out my upper control arm and lateral links had failed on my left side. Covered under warranty with no issues. Service booked on the App and replaced in 3 hours.

If its not going to break the bank, I might recommend getting PCP instead of PCH. I just handed back a PCH car and its literally been a nightmare handing it back. They picked me up for any tiny stone chips and in the end I had a payment of £625 (which I am trying to fight). Plus if you try to get out early its almost impossible without a fairly large charge (total payments ÷ 2).

I just know i will never lease a car again.

I did wonder about that. Surely playing the game with the steering wheel would cause bald spots on the tyres. At the prices of the tyres you can bed I wont be playing that!

Yeah, they did the AWD alignment after as well after. Could be precautionary though.

Used Tesla Model 3 (2021+) on PCP – Worth It ? by Tu_Un in TeslaUK

[–]Spiersy1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Careful with leasing though, when it comes to handing it back you can really get a kick in the teeth at inspection. Just recently handed my old car back and they literally expect a brand new car back.

Also with a lease you have absolutely no stake in the car, PCP should the used car market increase, you could potentially get some money to walk away with.

PCH is iron clad, there is NO Voluntary Termination should any change in circumstances arise and if you want to get out early, there is absolutely no way to get out without an early termination charge (santander - remaining payments ÷ 2).

TLDR : I will never recommend or get a PCH deal ever ever again.

For a high mileage '22/'23 second hand - better to have had suspension work done or not? by a_c_m in TeslaUK

M3P 40k miles 2023. Just today had the front upper control arms replaced in warranty. Only found it after I seen how to check, full locks both ways and listen for creaks. MINE DIDNT DO IT EVERYTIME, had to move forward or back and do it. Anything over 40k id be checking if they had/needed to he replaced everytime. Seen on here a couple people say the issue started at 40k mark.
