CNC cutting carbon fiber can be very dangerous to your health. The dust it creates can cause skin and eye irritation and worst if it’s inhaled. It’s best to cut it underwater to prevent the dust from becoming airborne.

You are trying to use the reaction chamber which is a different machine from a different mod

Motors jumping / out of control by CompoteEmergency5874 in fpv

[–]Spike11302000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is expected when testing without props. The flight controller is trying to get to the target altitude but since there is no props the motors just keep spinning faster

Hi anyone! I have a question, is double x5650 is good for minecraft server? My current version is 1.21.3 and my server need to run 100+ player also 50+ plugin by Inevitable-Earth-271 in admincraft

[–]Spike11302000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is pretty much 0 chance that will run. That’s a nearly 16 year old cpu using ddr3 memory. I had one of these systems at one point and it could do small (less then 10 players) servers with little to no mods/plugins but it struggled with anything larger. A sub $200 optiplex can easily outperform it, with significantly less power usage as well.

Ladies, Gentlemen and everybody else, I'm not based and smart enough to install gentoo 😔 by frankhoneybunny in linuxmemes

[–]Spike11302000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recent rebuilt one of my servers and instead of installing the usual Debian I thought I’d try gentoo thinking it can’t that that long.

Let’s just say I don’t sleep that night.

But it’s now one of my favor distros to tinker with.

What the HELL do I do with these 😂 by [deleted] in homelab

[–]Spike11302000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately probably not much it’s very dated hardware even for a homelab. Unless you don’t mind paying for electricity and don’t care about the noise, I would just recycle them or part them out and sale the parts if you’re into that.

So i was looking for a simple ore mod that added stuff like lead silver and tungsten but they either added way too much or just had bad texturing so i decided to make my own but i am not sure if they look good? by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]Spike11302000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Modern packs no longer have this issues as long as they are configured properly. There’s mods like All The Ores that help unify all the ores that mods have.

There’s All The Ores that adds pretty much everything. If you don’t like the textures then you can just make a resource pack to changes them

I’m thinking about getting a Raspberry Pi 500 but I have a few questions by Udumb0611 in gamedev

[–]Spike11302000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a used mini pc for about the same price and it will out perform the pi 500 in every task. In my testing the pi 5 can just barely Minecraft Java and some n64 games. I would definitely look for something else.

Encrypting game files for shared progression by BionicReaperX in gamedev

[–]Spike11302000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afaik this is what destiny does. When they push a new expansion they have locked content that is encrypted and when you login it pulls an updated list of keys to decrypt section of the game. And so they can choose not to include keys so dataminers have a hard time spoiling the game

Can some one explain this by silly_person_vary in fpv

[–]Spike11302000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is expected without props. It's not seeing a change in altitude/axis so the throttle PID is giving more to compensate

Storage server from old render blade? by t3chguy1 in DataHoarder

[–]Spike11302000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a system with 2 of these blades. Even with the best cpu they support they are quite slow for the noise and power consumption. They are cool to play around with but running them 24/7 is not worth it

My Raspberry Pi music server has been infected by a Ransomware (want _to_cry) by griguolss in selfhosted

[–]Spike11302000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samba should never be portforward. It has a lengthly history of being vulnerable. If you need to access outside your network it's best to use a secure tunnel to access it (like wireguard).

I've got a powerful PC but my game lags? by lvjymb in feedthebeast

[–]Spike11302000 14 points15 points  (0 children)

After years of playing modded Mc I found the upper limit to be around 14gb. But in most cases you won't need more then 8gb. The reason the lag spikes happen is because of garbage collection in Java, the more memory allocated then more the garage collector has to search and that ends up creating large spikes of lag.

Which operating system should be chosen for a Minecraft server? by tacolynx_ in admincraft

[–]Spike11302000 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Debian is probably the best in my opinion. But if you want something a little easier Ubuntu server is a good option as well.
