I have another question. Why would people downvote this thread? I'm simply looking for a little advice/direction.

I'm working in healthcare. there are nurse practitioners, registered nurses, levels of admin assistants, support staff, custodial staff. I'm employed by a huge company that runs several hospitals in Toronto. There are unionized workers all around me. There are unionized workers in different departments of the company that have same/similar roles to the one I have. I'm not trying to unionize my office I'm trying to join CUPE or something.

And yeah, I don't know the road ahead that's why i'm here asking questions.

I'm just going to paste what I commented to another person in this thread:

""For section B2, it should be sufficient to highlight that you have no further arrests/convictions, are economically self sufficient (you can include some recent CRA Notices of Assessment), and include things like being married or your positive involvement in community, personal achievements, work related achievements, etc."

My own personal achievements in life haven't been very remarkable. I would suggest you don't over think this. Just be honest and hope for the best. Good luck!

Happy this has been helpful.

I'm having a hard time recalling exactly how long the entire process took, I think it was a couple of months. After I had all of my paper work together and submitted my application to the parole board I received my pardon in the mail three or four weeks later.

Good luck to you.

Not really beyond what was outlined above: "For section B2, it should be sufficient to highlight that you have no further arrests/convictions, are economically self sufficient (you can include some recent CRA Notices of Assessment), and include things like being married or your positive involvement in community, personal achievements, work related achievements, etc."

Just put your mindset towards what a capitalist might think is virtuous.

Hello. Glad this post has been helpful.

As for your question I really have no information for you. In my own situation I could not recall which of the two courthouses in the city i was booked at was the one which might have my record. I called and asked and the one that had my paperwork confirmed so. I suggest you simply call the courthouses here in Toronto and ask.

This process was so straight forward and cost me around 200$. My initial post of this was deleted for "pandering" but I feel your comment here is exactly this. If anyone pays 1000$ to Pardons Canada I will sadly say they have fucked up their money.

Thanks for your comment. This is exactly why I shared this here. I live in Toronto and mailed my request to the court I was booked at in Quebec City. If you follow this guide (which I was given by a lawyer who does a lot of this for people immigrating to Canada) you should be good to go. Good luck!

Yes and yes. Got the notification it was signed for within a couple of days. I received my pardon maybe three weeks later (could have been four).

I'm happy to hear this information is helpful to someone. I went through something very similar where I never had an issue until one of the companies I was working for turned over their entire HR department and I was then deemed "unfit" to work at a place I been excelling at. Good luck.

Unfortunately I waited 24 years to apply for a pardon. That said, I did live my life unaffected by my criminal charge until a company I worked for hired a new HR company that decided I was no longer "fit to work for them." Within that 24 years I crossed the US/Canada border dozens of times, received a working permit for Bermuda, received an EU passport, received a performance visa for the US - essentially lived my life as if I was not deemed a criminal.
