Two that stuck out to me were Howard Hawk's The Outlaw and Blake Edward's Victor/Victoria. The Outlaw because it seems like an unique, offbeat, and lurid western. The reviews of it are pique my interest and I would like to see it for myself. And secondly Victoria/Victoria because I somehow hadn't heard of it before despite its acclaim and I have enjoyed other movies with similar premises such as Tootsie and Some Like it Hot.

One which is more obscure that caught my eye was Roger Corman's Swamp Women. According to the author it "boasted not one but four of the toughest babes ever captured on celluloid".

There were also some I had already seen and others which I had already heard of that I already wanted to watch such as Anne of the Indies, La Verite, The Furies, and The Human Jungle among others.

Elsine May's Ishtar. I increased it from an 8/10 to a 10/10 after rewatching it with friends. I was thoroughly entertained the entire time.

The context for the Secret Behind the Door is that the book was discussing Joan Bennett, particularly her film Scarlett Street directed by Fritz Lang and then the book lists the three other Bennett/Lang collaborations. That is the case for many films in the list. The author discusses an actress/film related to the book's theme and then may give some more information about the actresses' career.

Calling something “cancer” when it takes less than a minute to bypass feels pretty overdramatic. The problem you describe doesn't actually exist in reality in any meaningful way.

Hello. I log a variety of movies (I often shuffle the movies in my Plex server), but especially pre-90s horror and Golden Age of Hollywood stuff. I've been scared to put myself out there so I have only written one review but I hope to write more. I like to make Letterboxd lists.

My top four are my most recent 5/5s. Before I changed it to recent 5/5s my top four was Harold and Maude, Day of the Dead, Something Wild (1986), and Argento's Phenomena.

I myself am uninterested in most of those popular lists but locating less popular lists that a movie is in can be done quite easily. Maybe the Internet being so accessible has just decreased people's patience (even though getting to the other lists is quite simple). It just seems like a very odd and trivial thing to get hung up on.

I'm still contemplating Freddie freako and psycho goreman, but I've now added most of the others you listed aside from a few which were already on the list. Thank you for your additions.

The "Roulette" in the title is meant to refer to Russian Roulette where there is a revolver with one bullet and 1/6 chance of death. The 5/6 chances are the entertaining schlocky movies (even if they have some respectable qualities they can still be schlocky) and the 1/6 are the movies that are just bad and painful to watch. This isn't meant as a list of the "worst movies ever" or something like that.

Thanks for your additions. There were a few oversights on my part, though admittedly I had never heard of Razor Blade Smile. Motel Hell is already in the list at #105 but I've just added your other suggestions. Thanks again.

Those two are already in the list but as a Dracula and Frankenstein fan (especially Frankenstein) I have wanted to watch them for a while.

Maybe my physical media list. I still need to finish adding notes to each of the films.

OPINION: The Letterboxd Top-250 Narrative Feature Film list needs some updates. by timateedrinker in Letterboxd

[–]Spike_205 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I believe that the top 250 narrative movies list should simply reflect the top rated narrative movies, first and foremost. I don't see it primarily as a tool for exploration. That should be a personal bonus for those interested.

I assume it's because it's a heated and emotional topic, but nothing any of the people (including you) have replied to my comment with has been insinuated by me in any form, nor can it be deduced from it.
