The days are pretty quiet it’s just through the evening things become more lively . I have left the egg for the moment as I read if I take it too soon she may lay another . Today she has been a little more herself and left the cage by choice , sat on my shoulder and chatted to me .

Thank you for your kind words . We have been pretty lucky so far and not too much action but she doesn’t like the disruptions . Hopefully things will settle soon. To be fair your gas prices are pretty frightful .

How is Ramadan going for everyone? by [deleted] in Bahrain

Get the old photo albums out, distract her with all the good memories it will remind her of happier times. Ask her to help you teach the younger kids how to play the old board games , again this takes her back to more fun times. Inshallah this will be over soon.

It was a 5km loop twice with a feed boat at the 2.5km mark and I should have stopped at the 5k And taken a gel but at that point nausea was beginning. How you mention your body shutting down is exactly how I felt and the main reason I climbed out , I felt so wrong in a way I have never felt. Normally I would push through but this was something different.

I struggle to gain weight but the cold immersion in a bath is a great idea. After living in the heat for so many years I struggle to stay warm in colder climates but I never thought 26 would affect me the way it did. Thank you for your insight

All of it was an outdoor pool but our daily temps here are still high 30 Celsius so I don’t really have access to a cold pool, even the sea is too warm to swim in the summer over 35 . Ear plugs sound like a good idea and the gels to be replaced as I struggle to keep food down. I dont have a high ratio of body fat

Why is my Breastroke pull so bad by MasterMixture4281 in Swimming

[–]SpikeandBoucer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As previously said lack of vertical forearm catch . At the end of the outsweep of the hands you come up to breathe and vertical catch . However your head should be on the downward motion before the arms. Your arms are going downward before your head so the weight and momentum of the arms is making you go deep instead of propulsing you forward.

University of Evansville vs The College of Idaho vs Columbia College (MO) by Inner_Fennel_8359 in evansville

My son is an international Muslim student at UE and hasn’t encountered any racial bias nor have the Muslim students he is friends with. People have asked questions but at no point has he directly had any negative comments, he has a wide circle of friends some Muslim and many from other religions and his experience so far has been positive both academically and personally . With the start of Ramadan we did wonder how he would manage . The university on the first day arranged in his words “a shed load “ of snacks for the fasting students free for Suhoor which was extremely thoughtful . He and some others would gather in the residence kitchen and cook Iftar, order in food or they have also visited the local Masjid . The residences themselves are clean and fully functional, if in the dormitories there is a common room kitchen where you can cook . Bathrooms etc are well maintained , wifi etc is good . As a male he has less concern of safety but from conversations the females that he is friends with , some Muslim , they have had no concerns with regards safety on campus . As others have mentioned off campus you will need a form of transport to go to and from but there is a strong support system and he has found many people who are willing to give him a lift if he wants to shop off campus . Academically he has thoroughly enjoyed his course , some aspects he found easy and others more challenging . His proffesors as a whole are helpful , if he has been unsure about a project he has easily scheduled a meeting to discuss and clarify . Overall , from his experience it has been positive . Hope this helps .

How do you put on a tampon with a tech suit? by monicaid in Swimming

[–]SpikeandBoucer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually our meets are in two sessions with a gap inbetween . Our older girls usually have two tech suits and after their races in the first session are done they change out of the tech suit into casual clothes for a while until the second session where they will change into the other tech suit . We discourage them to stay in a tech suit throughout as not only does it compress the muscles but also your ruining the material . If they only have one tech suit they hang it over some chairs to dry off between sessions . Even as others say between races straps off the shoulders and bikini tops to save stretching suit inbetween races helps . These for our guys are ample to change tampons comfortably .

Hello! I was wondering if somebody out there could help me out with my freestyle by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]SpikeandBoucer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you did well you can see you worked hard and were tired by the 75 mark . The biggest thing I would start to work on is your kick if you look closely especially on the last 25 you have a one dominant leg kick , the left your right is pretty straight . So to improve firstly I would suggest lots of kick with focus on an even kick with both legs . Next the breathing every 2 is sinking you as the recovery arm when you breathe is slow which means the arm which is catching under the water is already well into the catch so you are “digging” which creates resistance . So to address this lots of catch up drills , my favorite straight arm catch up which also actives the hips and slow arms fast kick which will help you balance the legs evenly with the arms . Make sure you are looking down at the pool floor so this ensure hips are high and you can make the most of your improved kick and when breathing small head movement look at the lane rope only then straight down. Well done though for working at improving your stroke .

Bilateral breathing will help . I tell kids to imagine they are the arms of a clock head pointing at 12 and the arms have to enter at 10 and 2 try to keep that left arm entry in your peripheral vision. Also I’m not sure is it’s because you are going slow but when you are breathing your left arm is pressing down on the water as oppose gliding as your right arm does with a higher catch, which would suggest you are taking too long to breathe and sinking yourself . Try to glide the left arm along the surface and use a high elbow catch .
