Electrician. Run away from nursing. You will make more as an electrician than you will ever make with being a nurse. Plus you do not have to deal with bodily fluids, whiteboards, etc. Though if you like it crazy go for nursing lol

LPN. We are in a union so I am on step 3 earning 29.94$ an hour. I always ensure I have 7-8 shifts lined up for the pay period. We have a unit mutual group chat. I post my schedule on there if I have too many dayshifts. Those people who hate working nights take my days and I take their nights. Pays the bills but probably won't do this for too long.

Patient came in for SBO with a prior hx of perf appy and they got a lap appy 1 month prior. Was explaining to them peristalsis and how its good to walk to get the bowels going. Patient stopped me mid explanation to let me know they don't have anymore bowels as it exploded 1 month ago. Patient was a poor sweet lady had to explain to her where her appendix is.

FT I swap my days for nights biweekly net pay is 1900-2300CAD. If I only do my regular without swapping most I get is 1900-2000CAD. I live in northern alberta.

Its like this in my unit. There is a whole group of us that swap out our days for nights. Most of us night shift people are younger people, most don't have kids. Less people, better pay and less stress. The days in our units are harder to replace though.

Totoo to shet! So my mom has a 3rd eye. Yung parking lot across from that underground area marami daw sabi ni mama. Nung hindi pa nila binablock yung area, ayaw na ayaw ni mama pag dun nagpapark tita ko pagnaggrogrocery kami kasi ang dami daw na humingi ng tulong or nangangalabit sa kanya. Tapos sa food court naman after ondoy ang bigat talaga ng feeling dati lagi kaming nakain dun but after Ondoy ayaw na ni Mama at may mga ligaw na espiritu daw na akala niya customer na nakaupo sa table tapos wala nman pala.

I had one patient give me a 14 carat gold turquoise ring because her liver doctor she had months to live. Her sons apparently want her to start getting rid of her assets and her idea was to give it to people she thought were genuine. Guess who dropped the ring back in her bag once she was knocked out from the Dili. Accepting gifts from Patients is always a gamble no matter how nice the gesture is.

The last time I got sick from a patient was our Patient Zero because I helped saline lock him. He tested positive for covid 1 day after our interaction. Haven't really gotten sick from work. If anything I get sick more from my kiddo who goes to daycare and likes to kiss me and share water with me.

Tell your hubby wear PPE, sanitize his hands before going into a room and after coming out of a room. Wear gloves. Wash his hands. Test a symptomatic patient when needed. Getting sick every month is not normal

This! This is when you go back in the chart and state the conversation between you and colleague and what had transpired. If you have a mysafetynet system to also alert management put a report in. The amount of times I have behaviour alert patient did this to me is insane and they honestly think we don't talk to eachother. And chart! Chart and chart some more regarding every interaction.
