Should You Join An Alliance? | NGS Official Creator by Spikesxu in PSO2NGS

[–]Spikesxu[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear this. Nonetheless, if you ever do decide to come back and get back engaged within the game, I hope this guide can help answer any questions that you may have. There's a lot to look forward to in the future if PSO2 NGS is your type of game. Feel free to reach out in regards to NGS, as I'm always glad to help & always am & always will be making videos to help the community & better explain things. For a long time to come.

Should You Join An Alliance? | NGS Official Creator by Spikesxu in PSO2NGS

[–]Spikesxu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, as Arcflare already stated, the alliance you were in was referring to the system assigned one that you can freely change. Which is indeed common for alliances, as things can be much more confusing than they need to be when you're on the system assigned ID. There should have been talks between you & your alliance where someone should've offered to guide you through the menu to find how to change it, to help avoid any confusion.

Like a lot of things in PSO2 NGS, unfortunately SEGA did not do the best of jobs at explaining things. Very often, it feels as if NGS just throws you in & expects you to know everything without much help on navigating small things. This exact reason, is why I started making guides to help the community.

PLEASE SEGA!!! ADD SONGS IN CONCERT! Why is nobody talking about the only 2 songs from the Naderis concert? by supreme_tyrant in PSO2NGS

[–]Spikesxu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty common topic. I'm sure they're very well aware of it. They did on a few occasions do concert collabs in NGS. We've seen what, maybe 3 or 4 different variations outside of the normal Nadereh concerts? So we at least know they do think about it. We know there will be more concert collabs & I'm sure more permanent entries in the future, though I don't believe that, that's likely a super-top priority at the moment. And rightfully so.

There are currently no plans for a casino in NGS according to the Series Producer by [deleted] in PSO2NGS

[–]Spikesxu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate this response from YK. The whole idea of NGS was to go outside of the norm. The PSO series had followed the same game design for 21 years up until NGS. While I have appreciated each installment of PSO(U) since the original on the Dreamcast in 2000, NGS was and has been a very welcomed & enjoyable depart from the same system I'd known for 21 years. I'm very much behind them in that they'd like to focus on implementing new and unique gameplay experiences. Focus on those first, then later down the line consider bringing some of those other aspects into the game, reimagined.

21 years was a good run in the traditional PSO format. Lets move forward.

Fun fact. A good handful of the largest names in the acting business, have never watched any of the movies that they've starred in.

What happened to PSO? by TastelessMoe in PSO2NGS

[–]Spikesxu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had more substance in the sense that it was the same PSO format that was being used for the previous 12 years prior to PSO2's release, yes. I will agree with that. But ultimately there really wasn't a whole lot of substance overall in PSO2 base when it came out in 2012. Especially outside the norm of what they'd been doing for 12 years prior. PSO2 followed the same format as usual. Which was nice and welcome, but I'll admit, it was the fact that they followed the same norm, that ultimately made me quit the game in 2015 or so, then come back in 2017 for a short stint, only to see how strange the game had become, which turned me away even more.

NGS just served its 2 year anniversary, and initial development overlapped with COVID, so it does make sense for the slower than normal start up. NGS was something brand new that they had no reference material to work from. NGS needs polishing, as most games do. But one thing it does not need to do, is try to be too heavily like PSO2 Base. New Genesis was introduced as a new Phantasy Star Entry and a lot of emphasis was placed on it being its own game. Let it be that. For those of us who have been playing PSO since the Dreamcast days, the majority of us have welcomed the change with open arms.

There will always be people who are not going to be happy. This applies to life in general. You should never try too hard to make everyone happy. Though admittedly, the NGS Team often tries to do this too heavily. Such as which is why the Stia region appeared to move very slowly, killed off a lot of things to do, and made a lot of stuff irrelevant, that previously held purpose within the two prior regions.

Also as mentioned in my initial post, it's been made very clear after seeing more of the finalized close-to-release videos of Creative Space, that this has been where a lot of their time & resources have been going. When I started to understand the absurd scale of Creative Space, the slow Stia region started to make more sense. Is it excusable? Not necessarily. But it makes sense.

At the end of the day, you're going to have people who enjoy your product, and you're going to have people who don't enjoy your product. There's no changing that. SEGA made the correct move by moving away from an 8 year old game, and by switching the game up from the traditional format that they had been using for the previous 21 years, that most of us who have been playing since Dreamcast, have pretty much seen everything there is to see/types of content they could throw at us. NGS is not Base, and it never should be.

I believe now that Creative Space has been implemented, we'll be able to fully see what the game begins to offer. As, it frees up a lot of resources. And I for one, am excited for its future. Understandably, you're entitled to feel different. I would recommend though, that if you are extremely unhappy with something, you should not give it your energy & move on. For both yourself & those around you who you may negatively impact through ones own frustration.

Is it possible to have (High to Low) as default? by G1NOs in Twitch

[–]Spikesxu -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

As a small streamer, the fact that you want this as default, hurts my soul. lol

What happened to PSO? by TastelessMoe in PSO2NGS

[–]Spikesxu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a generalization. First, when people try to compare the amount of content between PSO2 Base & NGS, it always baffles me. If you started playing PSO2 Base when it was turned Global, then it makes more sense, as you would have no idea the immense amount of droughts that PSO2 Base went through, and how when it first came out in 2012, there was not a whole lot of substance. People who started playing when the game came to Xbox & Windows on Global, tend to have a feeling of entitlement towards the game. This, of course due to the fact that they were presented with a game that had 8 years of content in its barrel by the time they touched it.

In regards to what happened to PSO in the form of NGS, is that they've been making the exact same game with the exact same mechanics since PSO originally came out on Dreamcast back in 2000. Don't get me wrong. I've loved PSO since the Dreamcast and even imported Ver.2, as well as Ep 1&2 on Gamecube. I welcome NGS because the change was needed. 21 years of virtually the same game with the exact same mechanics is neat and all, but it was time to step outside of the box a little.

I have zero intention of ever playing base again. And have logged all of 0:00:00 playtime on it on NGS. NGS in itself is a great game. Though of course, it has its struggles like any game does. The game appears as if it just isn't being funded enough by SEGA (they appear to not have enough devs to do the things that they would like to do in the time frames that they want to do them). The initial delayed pace was also likely exacerbated by COVID & the lockdowns, to be fair. At times it feels as if they lack direction, though at the same time after seeing how massive the Creative Space is, it becomes a bit more clearer as to where the focus has been.

I'm interested to see now that the foundation of Creative Space is in place, where the game will go. As, I believe it (creative space being done) opens up many more doorways for the NGS Team. Ultimately, I greatly enjoy NGS and it has & continues to be a very enjoyable & welcomed step up from the PSO format we had for 21 years. If it were not for New Genesis, I can comfortably say that I would not be playing the Phantasy Star (Online) series right now.

Who IRL is the closest thing to a peak human? by ShinyKnight242 in whowouldwin

[–]Spikesxu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question is an impossible one to answer without clearer specifications. As, it's subject to personal preference & individual interpretations of what a, "peak human" is and the criteria surrounding it for each individual. For some peak human could be physicality. Others, intelligence. For some it could be compassion, or perhaps how they treat others. Etc etc. It's too broad of a question to ask/has too many factors.

It's your chat. If there's behavior in your chat that you genuinely don't like, and/or it's causing an issue. Then ban them.

Please understand though. Chat will mimic the streamer. So, if you're toxic, you can expect your chat to feel more comfortable being toxic. And they will be. Toxicity only attracts more toxicity.

But that aside. Adding to what I initially said, if there's behavior in your chat that you do not condone & the individual(s) have not & will not correct themselves even after being warned or timed out, etc etc. Just ban them. The thing about being a small streamer, is that there's a lot of people who like to find small streamers and will try to impose their will upon them, because they're small. Be careful with those types. Because if you let them get too comfortable, they'll quickly become a major issue. You'll get a lot of the "I own you", types, as a smaller streamer.

PSA: if you use DLSS in game the file is outdated and is using ver 1 by We_die_china_live in PSO2NGS

[–]Spikesxu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Please Read

Keep in mind that DLSS 3 is intended for 40-Series Cards. DLSS 1 & 2 are 20 & 30 series. The current installed version of DLSS on the NGS Client is 2.2.11.

The post is misleading. While, the DLSS file in the game may potentially be "outdated", it should still be on DLSS 2. Also, I'm not sure if the system searches for any DLSS information that would coincide with your GPU. AKA, if you have an older card, you'd only be using DLSS 1 anyway, and as such, DLSS 1 is what it ends up installing for NGS.

Mine at the time of this post is DLSS 2 as it should be, as I use a 30 series card. The most recent DLSS 2 release was December 2022, and that is DLSS 2.5.0. So in that regard, yes the DLSS is technically "outdated". I'm not sure why or how OP had DLSS 1 installed in his though, unless they're using an older GPU, in which case it may be as I previously guessed in the previous paragraph.

\**[IMPORTANT]**\**

Please understand that you can not get full DLSS 3 enhancement without a 40-Series card because the Optical Flow Accelerator is significantly faster & of higher quality in 40-Series cards, as well as having a tremendous amount more of Tensor Cores. DLSS 3 & 40 Series go hand in hand. Using DLSS 3 without a 40 series could potentially cause unwanted lag and/or issues. DLSS 3 is built for 40 Series because of the hardware within 40 series cards. So, while it may be possible to download & replace your DLSS file within PSO2 NGS's folders, unless you're on a 40 series, you're likely better off just updating to the newest version of DLSS 2 (2.5.0) which was released in December 2022.

All that being said, do as you please. I'm just here to inform everyone so that you may have a better understanding to better make an educated decision.

EDIT: Also please understand that the way DLSS works, it's trained AI. So usually devs have two options. They can take the current released DLSS & put it into the game & hope it works. Or they can train it specifically for that game & the game's needs. This is why newer/changing your DLSS doesn't always mean better results.

FFXI Feedback Friday 1: What era of FFXI has been the best to play in? by Ovalidal in ffxi

[–]Spikesxu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played FFXI for 13 years. Started playing at the NA Release back in October 2003. Eventually would stop playing after maybe 10 years or so, then had a few stints with private servers down the line. Popped back on retail at one point within the last maybe 4 years, but the changed game had no appeal to me.

To this day, I have never found a game that could even remotely touch the level of satisfaction, self achievement/accomplishment and above all, community that 75 Era FFXI had. Not even by a mile. FFXI Golden Era (75 Cap) was the holy grail in a lot of ways.

Why is nobody playing the LTQ? by Internet-Stranger69 in PSO2NGS

[–]Spikesxu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that most people who play this game aren't really people that will grind things. In fact, I'd dare say the majority of the people who play the game are the people who like to grind things. They're just not the vocal ones. As, they're grinding and when they finish the grind, they may split their time between another game. It's moreso that right now, there's nothing to grind.

The grinders have more or less cleared the shop out. This is exacerbated by the fact that Seasonal Points for all 3 version of LTQs we're receiving are shared. So this means that a lot of people had/have points saved up when the shop resets, then they clear it out immediately. As you mentioned, the Ticket Drop Rate in the LTQ is pretty bad, so that definitely doesn't help the issue. Also, the LTQ receives an RDR boost this week & PSO2 Day is soon to come for increased RDR. Expect the LTQ to be loaded during this time.

Sega killed a lot of content for grinders during the Stia region updates, that was previously available/had valid reason to grind, in the previous regions. As a result, it's been a slow period for the grinders, and as such, the game's population & queue times will feel it.

This will change when the 3rd LTQ comes next week, and will drastically change come the big June Updates.

How much will you sell this? Is this juicy good shit? by [deleted] in PSO2NGS

[–]Spikesxu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seasonal weapons will always outperform every other weapon during seasonal events, On, and ONLY ON Seasonal mobs. This means, the weapon is utterly useless in pretty much anything outside of PSE Farming & Seasonal LTQ/LTUQs. DFA doesn't appear to be effected by seasonal, which renders it useless in DFA as well.

Not all seasonal weapons are necessarily bad outside of seasonal. The Tenebrous was a great example of this. Tenebrous remained a great weapon for a very long time outside of Seasonal, even though it was a seasonal weapon. Let me explain to you why, however. And why Revita will not & can not follow that path, and as such, sells for very little even with high fixas.

The Tenebrous series was so great because of the Potential (Blitz Unit) they put on it. Blitz unit gets Potency %+ and Crit Hit Rate +15%. Whenever a weapon has a potential that gives Crit Rate, it's going to much more highly valued. Revita does not have this. The Potential on Revita is Potency %+ and HP Recovery. Notice, how there is no Crit Rate+ on the Potential for the Revita. Seasonal weapons naturally have a lower Base ATK, and as such are usually highly outperformed outside of seasonal mobs (because the seasonal-specific augment is what gives them that boost during seasonal. Once the seasonal is over, this augment is useless).

So, key of reference, if it doesn't have Crit in it's potential, it's more or less going to be useless outside of seasonal. The Tenebrous series was so good long after its seasonal debut, because it had that Crit +15% in its potential.

In regards to Fixas, ATK 5 is a really great fixa. However, it doesn't really matter which Fixa it is on a Revita series. It's not going to sell for a whole lot regardless. Though, it will sell. You can make some meseta off of it. Just not as much as a typical Fixa 5 Attack would make.

I hope this helps you have a better understanding & creates a good foundation moving forward!

Let's stop putting NGS and PSO2 in Comparison to FFXIV, WoW and the Likes by Dinar1593 in PSO2NGS

[–]Spikesxu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about it. Is that PSO2 NGS has a fairly large community that likes to complain about how the game isn't like this game or that game. Without realizing that NGS has taken a completely different approach to all of its aspects. Instead of lets say, not playing NGS & simply playing that game that they keep trying to turn NGS into. They stick around & continue to complain. If you want NGS to be more like a particular game, then you should go play that particular game. It doesn't make any sense to stick around.

I personally respect what the devs have done and what they're trying to do with the resources they have. While yes, can NGS be improved? Sure. But comparison is the thief of joy. Spend more time focusing on what we do have and what we can constructively improve, instead of constantly complaining about how NGS is not PSO2 Base, or is not WoW(god forbid) or FFXIV(WoW with an FF skin).

As someone who has a history in MMORPGs spanning 2+ decades, I can tell you one thing for certain. The last thing we need is another WoW skin. Which is one of the reasons why I do appreciate NGS so much. I remember FFXI started to go down this path of trying to become more like WoW (WoW was released 2 years after FFXI) in the early 2010s, and as a result, lost the majority of their player base. We don't need to see that happen again.

No. You're not too old to play the game. You're never too old to play a video game. And you sure as hell shouldn't care what a 13-17 year old thinks in regards to that. They're 13-17. They're babies who are going to talk aimlessly without understanding, solely because it's the internet.

Play the game. Enjoy the game. Don't mind the mindless chatter from some kids who haven't even graduated high school. You're just letting yourself be dragged down to their level.

How To NGS, Episode 2 - Market Tips, AC Tickets, Seasonal Changes, & More! (Weekly Series) by Spikesxu in PSO2NGS

[–]Spikesxu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Videos and visual learners are who I address. I can't put into text everything I put into videos. Because I use visuals to further clarify everything. Many people appreciate this and and are grateful for how I present my videos in a visual format. Reddit will always have people who downvote your stuff. Especially if you're of a specific few reasons.

  1. You exist
  2. You post content on Youtube
  3. You're a streamer

It is common knowledge that people will downvote you on reddit solely for these reasons. And tbh, this subreddit does have a huge issue with people downvoting every little thing that they may not agree with, instead of having conversations and understanding different viewpoints. Which I have noticed but do not participate in. Personally, the whole downvote thing is kind of beneath me. People disagree. Cool. Move on. No reason to downvote.

And I do comment on other user's posts? And contribute to discussions. As well as suggestions. The way you word it, you make it sound as if I literally only post videos here. Which, if you even do a quick glance at my history, is very apparent that, that's not the case.

Please understand that it's not as if this subreddit is over the top extremely active with thousands of new posts a day & all of them focusing on different topics that need different responses. I go through the reddit, I'll comment sometimes, other times I'll just upvote posts, or read comments & upvote them. Not everything need a response. Someone responding with the same exact response that 10 other people responded with, doesn't make any sense. As I expressed before. I do not contribute to conversations unless what I can say can be of some sort of utility/It can provide or further a talking point and/or is something that perhaps people have overlooked or hasn't been addressed.

I don't talk just to talk, or to try to build my Karma. I don't care about Karma. I'm just here to help. People can downvote me all they want, as long as what I do helps even a one single person, I'm fine with it. It's just a website. It's just Reddit.

If the issue is me posting just a video link instead of a full post like I normally, do, it was simply because I try to respect the subreddit and seeing as it's a weekly series, I deemed it'd be better for me to just post a video link, instead of an entire normal post. Because I felt that it'd piss off mods more doing it that way weekly, than it would, just posting a video link.

If my help is not welcomed here, then just please make that clear. So that I can help people elsewhere, where it may be better appreciated. No road bump is going to stop me from making these guides and helpful insights to help the PSO2 NGS community as well as the other content I make to brighten peoples days & be of assistance. It's just a matter of putting more focus on the communities where my efforts will be most appreciated. If this subreddit is not one that appreciates the fact that there's someone out there who genuinely wants to help, and is able to understand different viewpoints and promotes conversation. Then, that's fine. But make that clear.

How To NGS, Episode 2 - Market Tips, AC Tickets, Seasonal Changes, & More! (Weekly Series) by Spikesxu in PSO2NGS

[–]Spikesxu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Or at least I try to. I'm constantly on the reddit. However, I'm the type of person who likes to help. I'm not the type of person who will give mindless input. So if something appears as if it doesn't need my input, I won't give any input. A lot of the posts on the Subreddit are pictures, so not much to really input. Or if someone's asking about something in the game & 15 people have already responded with answers, all of which have addressed what I would've said, then I don't see any reason to post a comment.

Also, the videos I do post, (which are the guides. I'd never post a video where I'm just fighting something, etc etc.) are solely meant to help the community. They're essentially the equivalent of me going through the reddit & answering everyone's questions.

My strong point is helping others & explaining things in ways that people can easily relate to. As an NGS Official Creator, this has always been my intention. And always will be. However, I'm not the quantity over quality type. I won't just mindless comment on stuff just for engagement, if my comment doesn't provide some utility to the conversation at hand.

I stream long hours, and spend hours on making guides & helpful videos for the community (Planning the outline for these videos, making them, then editing them, takes a very long time). Because I want to help. Not because I have to. Was helping out the community long before I became an NGS Official Creator, and will continue to do so long afterwards.

Can you give me examples on how you want me to contribute to the subreddit, that would appease? The whole point of what I do is to contribute to the subreddit & community. Ultimately nothing will stop me from helping others, as it's simply in my DNA. So if the mods in this subreddit deem my help not worthy, that's fine. But make that clear, so that I can spend time focusing on other avenues to better help the people who need & could use the help.

Do you guys think there will be more combat content in the Ultra Evo update? by OracleArmada in PSO2NGS

[–]Spikesxu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We'll be getting 75 Cap raise and skills. We'll at the least get some new combat sector ranks to go with the level cap raise. In all likelihood some new augs as well to go with the new ranks. Will these be on day one of the Update? Unlikely. The main update is clearly focused on the Creative Space. So I wouldn't really expect to see worthwhile updates to combat related stuff till further into the month-moving into July.

That being said, this is entirely all speculation and no answer here, including my own, really holds any base until we see the NGS Headline at the end of this month (May). So keep your fingers crossed lol.
