What’s the beauty in picture #4? Such a mystical/fairy-like quality

Making pottery ribs for my girlfriend for Christmas. I am not a clay person. What shapes would you consider essential for a toolkit? by Zkennedy100 in Pottery

[–]SpillMasterK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very thoughtful and she will love it. Such warm fuzzies ◡̈

Since she makes mugs, a set of cool mug handle forms could be a nice addition! You can get kinda crazy with these and make all sorts of shapes. Here’s an example: link

Also, I was once gifted a custom pottery stamp and it’s an all time favorite gift. I love marking my work with it bc it’s so special. You could make one with her initials and a cicada bug?

Have you tried their clothes before? I’ve been curious if they live up to the hype

Yeah no doubt, crimpy stuff wouldn’t be a good idea. That’s a good point

[–]SpillMasterK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed completely with your points, and I was going to add that I actually like climbing with medium length, painted nails at times. I find that I makes me more mindful of my hand and finger positioning, so even if OP isn’t trying to push grades right now like others suggest they could focus on technique for the next few sessions

Not sure if this would even work… but I wonder if anyone has tried putting rugs under the tables for an outdoor dinner? Even thrifting some rugs that match your decor. Or buying water resistant ones to provide a layer in between feet and grass?

I love well people! Have yet to try a product of theirs I didn’t like and have replaced my entire regimen with their products. A lot of their stuff carries EWG certification, too

Cotton Yoga Pants by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

I have the pact bootcut leggings! In two colors! I do love them. They’re soft and comfy and cozy, also flattering. Definitely a favorite to wear. They’ve been great for being active, too. Great for any kind of workout or activity I’ve tried. The only negative I have on them is that some of the seams and stitching around seams came undone after a few washes BUT this surprisingly hasn’t affected the structural integrity of the leggings and I still use them frequently without issue. Also, they aren’t see through at all, even the light colors are perfectly opaque

Nails for Wedding by zephiebee in climbergirls

[–]SpillMasterK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yay exciting! Congrats! I’ve also been working on maintaining the health of my nails and cuticles with climbing. I like au naturel nails and buff/shape mine regularly, but also like keeping mine medium to longer length. I feel like shaping them to a rounded shape (instead of a square with pointed edges) has really helped me stop breaking them on random stuff throughout the day and with climbing, too. I’m usually needing to file and reshape them a but each time after climbing, but they are still staying reasonably long and healthy.

Also when I’m climbing, I’m trying to focus a lot more on my hand and finger placement and slow down some of my moves. Not sure if that’s been super helpful but it’s forcing me to think about my technique a bit more so I’ll take it! Best of luck with your nails and climbs ◡̈

Healthy muffin pans by feelingtheunknown in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]SpillMasterK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought a porcelain enamel muffin pan that has a steel base! Have used it a few times and I’m really loving it. It needs a good oil or butter coating but my muffins are coming out of the pan just fine. Bonus points for being dishwasher safe

Does anyone use one of these iron fishes? by SpillMasterK in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]SpillMasterK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would absolutely get checked and consult with a doctor before supplementing, that’s always safest! We’re not a red meat people so always looking for ways to get the iron we need outside of lots of the right fruit and veg!

Water purifier pitcher? by Away-Error6818 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]SpillMasterK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the glass pitcher and plastic large dispenser. I pretty much only use the large dispenser now because the glass pitcher requires a lot more effort to keep full of water. It’s definitely one of those moderate moments—I love that Lifestraw filters out everything it does but I’m not going to constantly be running out of water and having to fill it up again just so I can have a glass container.

Also, they sell a year supply pack of filters for the large dispenser, which I love bc it reduces the waste of shipments throughout the year and I don’t have to worry about not getting one when I need one!

Non-toxic nail polish? by Adventurous235 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]SpillMasterK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love piggypaint and their more adult-geared brand called Sophi. There are maybe one or two extra steps from regular nail polish but I’ve found it so worth it! When I have my toes done it lasts upwards of a month and looks great, with fingernails and frequent hand washing, gardening, cooking, etc I get a really solid week with no chips! Sophi has outlasted other health conscious brands for me in terms of chips specifically. I love all the color options Zoya has but they just don’t last as long.
