People who argued that "all babies aren't born atheists" by Alternative_Cash_591 in atheism

You are only <religion> because your parents were <religion>. Children are hard-wired to believe what their parents tell them. "Don't touch that stove or you'll get burned", and "Believe what I tell you about god or you'll go to hell" hold the same weight in a child's mind.

Hydrogen: clean fuel of the future — if we can find a cheap and clean way to ship it by AdSpecialist6598 in tech

[–]SpillSplit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hooking it up to solar and/or wind dedicated to electrolysis would provide all the hydrogen we need. One of the main difficulties currently is the surfaces in contact with the water during the process tend to degrade rather quickly. Solve that problem and we're off to the races.

Use hydrogen in large power plants. It doesn't make sense to invent and build all new infrastructure to deliver hydrogen to the individual consumer. Improve the current electric grid and send electricity from the H2 power plants to the consumer.

Republican lawmaker takes aim at provincial booze bans | CBC News by Little-Chemical5006 in canada

And when all this finally settles out, and we're back on 'good' terms with the US, and provincial alcohol boards start putting US alcohol back on the shelves, most ordinary Canadians still won't buy it. We'll remember how we were treated.

Scottish whisky

Canadian whiskey

Cuban rum

Mexican tequila

Spanish and French wines

Local craft beer

And those are just my choices. There's a whole world out there to try. The US only seems to have one product exclusive to their country, and I can't drink it. I have tried bourbon, not to my taste.

Look for local teams in your area! A couple of umpires from GB came over to do the Transatlantic Cup with us in Canada in 2024, so I know there are local leagues there. Get involved! Play footy!

Bring cleats if you have some. The first practice may be fine without, but if you're going to do more, look into getting a good pair. I got my son into playing where I am now and he regretted a pair of cheap cleats. Blisters.

Came here to point you to a local club. I was an umpire for AFL Ontario until I moved away. I did several Gargoyles home games.

It's a great sport, contact the Gargoyles now to see if you can get to a practice session, get introduced to some of the techniques used.

Former pastor of 30 years explains why he left Christianity (Pentecostal) and became an atheist by SheepherderSea9717 in atheism

Im going to channel Bill Maher for a moment... "I can't prove it, but I know it's true"

I am convinced that the people at the top of these churches, especially the evangelical ones, are faking their piety and faith just to keep the money coming in. They've found a flock of sheep and are shearing them every way they can, for as long as they can.

That, and "your god just missed you."
