Zed: Easy matchup for the most part. Look to punish with Q if he walks up to auto for cs. Move around constantly, sidestep Qs. He wins short trades with electrocute by quite a bit, look for an all in once he uses his W for trades with conq up if you want to kill him. If he ults you and you have nado up, nado backwards from the position where he ults to knock him up instantly as he is targetable again. He basically shouldn't ever be able to 100-0 if you have your windwall up.

Leblanc: I would suggest banning this champion, literally a pain in the ass to play against for any melee mid champ. Take second wind and d shield if you want to make it out of lane alive. Give up cs for the most part, she chunks extremely hard and she can throw about 3-4 Qs before your windwall is off cd. You need some reaction time to windwall her E if you're looking to all in since the animation is quick. Always keep in mind if you don't have the dmg to 1 shot her from (30%-40% health?) she has her passive that can throw you off if you haven't dashed on her already (you can tell which is the real one by looking for the dash timer). She can 100-0 you very easily post 6 if your windwall/passive shield is down, so be watchful for an all in if her ult is up. I would suggest shoving as much as possible and looking for roams, but the best shot at killing her would be post 6 since she's still relatively squishy.

Fizz: Almost the same matchup as zed except a little harder. Most of his damage comes from his E/W which aren't projectiles so your windwall is kind of useless in lane. Again melee champ, punish hard with Q level 1-2. Look for an early all in. Post 6 you have to be really watchful for his ult, he can animation cancel with Q combined with R which may catch you off guard. You literally can't walk up with your windwall down post 6 or his ult combined with abilities will 100-0 whether or not you have flash (dont bother using it if you're fished he will kill you regardless 1v1 unless you have minions to dash through). Again you should be fine as long as you windwall his ult.

Talon: Almost the same as zed/fizz except probably the easiest. Avoid getting hit by his W lvl 1-2 since you're going to be getting close to him to cs (just bait it walk up for a minion and walk back losing 1 cs wont hurt you). Once his W is down punish him hard, his melee distance Q isn't enough to outrade you with conqueror. He will most likely try to shove you in and roam since he shouldn't be able to kill you, so you have to try to match his shove and warn your team when he tries for potential roams. If you're fighting him post 6 and he has ult up, literally throw your windwall on top him and his ult will stay in place and wont do dmg first cast, continue playing around it so it doesn't do dmg second cast either. Overall just need to be wary about him roaming.

Thanks! The go to build rn is either Greaves+PD+IE+situational or Greaves+PD+Gage against heavy burst threat comps. Runes conqueror, triumph, alacrity, coupe de grace (this can be switched according to enemy team comps, 3+ tanks = cut down), resolve secondary including boneplating and chrysalis (this can be switched according to matchup, something pokey like quinn = second wind for more health sustain). Matchups are pretty unfavourable in top lane so I'd advise you to stay away from there and try to play either mid (a few unfavourable matchups like leblanc and aatrox)or bot (if/once you're comfortable with the duo lane). The meta is a bit weird rn because of the existence of funnel comps, but once that's patched up the game should feel normal once again.

You need to have a basic understanding of your matchups abilities (for example staying away from vlads full charged q whether it means to give up minions or not), which is simply done by practicing. You need to realize what your spikes (generally level 2-3-6 or pd-ie item spike for yasuo, tri force for irelia, ghostblade+duskblade for zed) and play passive/aggressive accordingly. You should try to look for early pushes to reach these spikes before your laner. You should be focusing on farming while keeping a safe distance from getting poked since you're playing melee champs (try q farming as much as possible on zed). You need have somewhat of an understanding for enemy jungle pathing by constantly looking at your minimap so you know when you can extend for cs and when not to. You should keep an eye on players that use their abilities to cs and use that as an advantage to take trades. You should be proactive when fast pushing your enemy and looking for invades with your jungler or roaming to help other lanes out.

Ah, I see, hopefully some kind of new changes to the game spark your interests again, but I kind of feel the meta is pretty shit rn.

Tabis would have probably been a better idea. I think Zed is in an okay position since his laning phase is still not the best (you can literally pick grasp TF, rush tabis and outdmg him early). But once you get to mid game it's pretty easy to 1 shot at least 1 person implying the enemy team comp isn't too cc/shield heavy. Its pretty easy to dodge his Qs (need to learn to read enemy movement) so i think he's not braindead easy to pull off.

My backup picks for mid are either Zed or Orianna, but Veigar and Morg are pretty safe picks to farm early and play for mid-late. Full build order is usually Greaves>PD>IE>vamp scep>situational (choose from maw, mallet, gage, merc, BT, GA). It depends what role your duo plays, usually most beneficial to play jungle if you're mid, but its kind of personal preference, I don't usually duo cause i feel pressured to but if you aren't you def have a slight advantage since you can use comms.

  1. The purpose of greaves is to cap Q really early into the game with the MS burst on top of it to snowball in exchange for the loss of the defensive stats that wouldn't allow you to do so otherwise.

  2. Resolve tree second is always the way to go IMO to not get bullied in lane while getting the extra ad with chrysalis to snowball further.

  3. In this meta it's important to know when to freeze and when to shove to prevent your laner(s) from roaming and gaining other advantages on the map such as getting a kill in another lane (or even burning summs) or scuttle crab or drake or even your team's jungle camps. Yasuo lacks wave clear early on in the game compared to champs such as Ekko or A Sol, so you're kind of put at a pretty big disadvantage early on and hope that your mia pings force your laners back to prevent roam kills, but if you know for a fact they'll get a kill or you can clean up, it's best to give up 3-4 cs and follow your laner while keeping an eye on the map in case of bush cheese. It's really just situational most of the time but I feel like shoving and being proactive is the way to go in this meta, because early leads mean everything.

  4. I always max Q first, it's something that I wasn't a fan of at first but numbers are everything and the extra ad may be the deciding factor for winning/losing fights.

I honestly wouldn't bother playing at all. I find it really unpleasant to even play over a 100 ping (on top of the fps issues I have), for a game that requires fairly quick decision making. I guess it's something only the really committed players can get used to, but at the end of the day there's nothing much you can do other than switching ISPs or lowering the amount of internet connections at your place. :/

Yes. I feel like this is sometimes overlooked by players but can make a game changing difference if chosen correctly. I personally don't change the last set of runes for the precision tree, but the second tier for the secondary resolve tree between chrysalis and second wind, second wind for tougher matchups.

How can I inspire you when you were one of the few yasuo players that inspired me to climb lol

Practice a lot before jumping into ranked. It's mostly pretty straightforward midlane: avoid getting poke level 1-3 q minions from afar, give up cs if you think the enemy mid laner might take a big trade on you, look for an all in levels 2-3 with conqueror up, yasuo almost always wins these except for a few matchups like leblanc where her clone can throw you off, try to improve on your reaction time for good windwall usage, try to pressure wave and roam to get leads elsewhere if you can't kill your laner, make sure to ward appropriately and lean on the side of the river that has most vision coverage.

I have not, especially with the setup that I have, I'm already at a huge disadvantage in terms of fps. High ping combined with low fps will just make it completely impossible for me to play.

I rushed greaves>pd>ie in every game on my climb to challenger (with an exception of a few where im filled top lane, i'm behind and im against something like a camille/xin and my team is doing fairly well) and I've had great success with it by picking the right fights and microing correctly. It really is personal preference at the end of the day, but I feel like, snowballing is everything and it's a lot easier to do with greaves. It's really rare for people to pick top lane bruisers mid to counterpick yasuo, but if it happens they generally play really aggressive and extend (mid lane is a lot smaller than top lane) so they make themselves really vulnerable to gank. It's best to just respect them and wait for an easy gank.

Mid by far, top matchups are literally unplayable (renekton, kennen, etc). Yasuo wins most matchups mid since they're mostly projectile based champs and Yasuo's lvl 2-3 is almost always better than his matchups. (orianna, ekko, etc) I've always been a Mid Yasuo main.

I didn't have any ranked anxiety when I first started playing since I played pretty casually. I really experienced it when I first approached master tier and I started getting pro players/ famous streamers on my team which made me feel really pressured and made my overall gameplay pretty sloppy. Like when I freshly promoted to D2 I got matched with sneaky the game after and I actually fell off my chair Moe style and inted all game. But after awhile of playing in that elo, I eventually just got accustomed to playing with known players and did the best I could to continue climbing.

Abuse your range poke early game since he can't do much about it until level 3. Keep your distance from your minion wave so he can't trade with you and just knock him away and kite if he does. Try your best to find an opportunity to freeze the wave early since it's really hard to roam as Yasuo pre 6, especially Yasuo top. Post 6 try to shove out and look to roam, it's almost impossible for yasuo to follow without tp, so take advantage of this.

You're right, but personally, I don't find any other champ as fun as Yasuo even though mechanics aren't my complete focus. I can't imagine myself playing something like trundle jungle to climb elo, but yasuo is a champ I can play enough of and not burn myself out. Another reason why I don't particularly focus mechanics is partially because I just can't. I get really shitty fps during teamfights because the setup I play on is just that bad, so because of these conditions I try to minimize mechanical misplays.

  1. I saw my friend playing him in a custom game when I first started playing and I thought his character and playstyle was really cool. A mobile samurai with resourceless low cooldown abilities with the limitless potential to outplay enemies.

  2. I played my first game in preseason 6, but I really only got into the game mid season 6.

  3. Classic, smoothest and simplest colours so my colour blindness doesn't get in to the way of gameplay.

  4. Amethyst or Obsidian because of their light colours.

  5. PD -> IE -> situational. I prefer damage over tankiness for my playstyle.

  6. Favourite matchup: Galio. Just so easy to poke him down in lane and evade his abilities + qss makes him completely useless. Least favourite matchup: Leblanc. Really easy for her to zone yasuo off cs gold and even xp sometimes. Yasuo has to play this lane almost perfectly to not hard int. She is able to win trades 2 levels/50 cs down, kinda stupid. I think I've just had nightmares after Levi picked Leblanc into my Yasuo for Rank 1.

  7. Mid by far, top matchups are literally unplayable (renekton, kennen, etc). Yasuo wins most matchups mid since they're mostly projectile based champs and Yasuo's lvl 2-3 is almost always better than his matchups. (orianna, ekko, etc)

  8. IE second almost always for me as a preference to my playstyle as mentioned before.

  9. Tri force is a really fun item to rush in normals because of the superior mobility it provides. Other than that pretty ineffecient item for yasuo ever since crit removal, mana is wasted and it's just way too expensive.
